I made some progress. I threw a tarp on it for testing and it worked great. I need to shorten the back a little so the ski rope clears, but the front is good. Full speed into some serious head wind and it did great! I also wake surfed with slack in the rope St least 90% it the time. No ballast, about 300lb if people in the boat. Also caught some good air in the wakeboard. Good times.

I'm interested in knowing more about these clamps you used to transition from the tower tubing to the t-slot and how they bolted up? A link to the clamps if you have it? Thanks!

That's not terrible. Honestly what was in my head was not great. That's not bad at all.

With a single piece of canvas and some grommets and lacing I bet it would look pretty nice.

There is a link to the clamps earlier in the thread. I went through the clamp to a 8020 slot nut. I'm still mixed about a custom sunbrella top, or 1/16" aluminum. I might price out both. The aluminum top might be nice for holding knee boards.

I get that. Non-Rack storage for boards would be nice.

I was thinking something like this with the top just inside the T-Slot and "lashed" into place. Nice and light, but very shady.

I finally got it to the river! We went to New York for a week on senica lake, then hiked mt Whitney. I'm happy with it but I'm going to add a flip over extension in the rear for when i don't have a rope on the tower. I'm also going to add side shades on the top foot or so and towel holder clips. It did great heading into 20mph headwind. 20190818_132706.jpg20190818_132712.jpg
