Does anyone know how to turn off the Comm Alarm after stereo upgrade?

I recently had my stereo system upgraded on my 2017 242 and now I get a communication error message and alarm every five minutes or so which I have to mute. The new stereo has its own control so it does not run through the Connext system. Any help for a solution would be highly appreciated.
