Haven’t finished the boaters safety course yet but me and the wife are both itching to get out on the water and have some fun with the new boat. Any boaters from the Maryland area on here? Also we are pretty clueless when it comes to boats so any words of wisdom are greatly appreciated

:Welcome: to the forum. Great looking boat!

1) Don't ever drive near a boat, dock or other fixed object faster than you are willing to hit them...
2) The first scratch is the most painful...
3) Make sure someone else in your crew can drive the boat, take it back to shore, locate and use all the safety equipment.

You sure picked a NICE boat for your first go round !! This is also the best forum with the most knowledgeable members to teach you jet boating & help you spend money on mods.I always recommend replacing that cheap , hard plastic Yamaha OE bow roller on the trailer with a silicone Stoltz. That one will scratch your gelcoat in 1-2 launches / retrievals.

Beautiful boat! Have fun, be safe. There's always good folks here willing to help when you're in need. One of the newest aspects of owning a jet boat is the community that comes with it.

Also, send me some money and I'll send you some boards. ? Discounts for jetboat friends, just shoot me a message and let me know what your in the market for.

Very nice! Welcome!

Curious, how do you go from never having a boat to spending ~$50k on a new boat?

Nice looking boat congrats. Make a pre launch checklist and don't forget your drain plug. But most importantly have fun and let the boat blow all the stress away.

Thanks for the advise, my wife is taking the online class with me so she can pull me around when I wanna try wake boarding and tubing and what not. And yea it’s gonna be horrible seeing a scratch on this beauty but if it happens it happens ??‍♂️ I just gotta remember I bought it for the memories so just gonna roll with it

Oh wow thanks for the heads up I will be sure to change that out ASAP, what action should i take if I did get scratches in the gel coat? Can you just buff them out or do you need to get something to apply more on it?

Congrats, that's a nice looking boat. We bought a 2020 212s in March as our 1st boat and are still waiting for delivery. We finally got word it should be shipped in a few weeks. I think these boats are going to be pretty scarce for a while.

Thanks and congrats to you too, they really are awesome looking boats I can’t wait to get it out on the water, I drove 2 hours to get mine from VA

Lol it came to 71k with the extended warranty and taxes and whatnot ????‍♂️ And I shopped around at quite a few places and honestly felt like that was a good price for what I was getting, I didn’t want to chance getting something used and have it in the shop since I know nothing about working on motors or boats so new seemed like the best route to take

Thanks, I’m actually looking to get into wake boarding/ surfing once I get the hang of the boat so I will message ya once I’m in the market for a good board

Most of the time it can be buffed out but that gets old / fast ! There are many threads on here about the correct Stoltz roller for various Yamaha boat / trailer combinations. Just search on the word "Stoltz" in the upper right corner. About $30 and a very fast and easy swap.

Congrats and welcome! We also just bought our first boat (2020 AR210), first mods I would recommend is the bow roller, and since you're new to boating like me, trailer post guide-ons are super helpful. Low speed steering will be very challenging, so you'll want to get the Cobra Jet fins. The trailer jack broke on me after 3 uses (you have the same one), so plan on replacing that someday. See the links in my signature below, all of the parts I have will be identical for your 21ft twin engine boat. Let me know if you have any questions!

Hey thanks for the tips and congrats on your boat also! That’s crazy that jack broke that fast but it does look kind of undersized, my brother has the post guides on his trailer too so I was gonna copy him and slap them on mine also just seems like a nice thing to help keep you straight on there. Unfortunately I still don’t have my numbers for my boat since Maryland is taking forever to process my registration thro the mail so I can’t even comment on the steering yet, I will prob wait until I try without the add on first so I have something to compare it to for the cobra jet fins

I think that’s just skipping the entry level boat and going right to the one you really want. ;)

1) No thrust, no steering
2) If you lose sight of someone in the water, SHUT DOWN until you locate them again.
3) Never come at a dock any faster than you want to hit it
4) Practice, practice, practice
5) Have fun, YOU OWN A BOAT!
