I have a 2004 Air Nautique SV211 and the Flight control tower rubber knob on won’t unscrew. It is in the closed position and I can barely get it to turn. Regardless of the number of turns I can get, the knob does not show any distance unscrewing from the tower. Attached are two photos. One is the replacement knob and bolt. The other is a close up of the outside of the knob looking up from the bottom after removing the cap insert on the knob. Any suggestions on how to get the knob off?

Not familiar with that boat particularly or that knob. But sounds like your knob is separated from the metal part, so is just spinning. Don't know that I have any advice beyond the standard stuff: try some penetrating oil, letting it sit, wiggling the tower as you try to unscrew. If all of that fails, you are probably down to destroying the knob to get it off (maybe grinding a slit to get a screwdriver on it or maybe drilling out the metal part if it is too corroded in there). Then putting in a new one...
