I have been trying cleaner after cleaner, boat babes, Krud kutter, vinyl sauce, vlp and some were better than others with vlp my standard and Krud kutter for the hard stuff. I still couldn't get certain stains out no matter what. Last weekend went ocean fishing and the boat looked like a bad murder scene and smelled like the dump with the bodies. Nothing would clean it all especially the fish puke and blood. A charter boat guy I met at the store said to use something called Roll Off so I ordered it online. I mixed it 50/50 with water and this stuff cleaned stains I had from last year! My white seats where kinda dingy already and now they look new again. Anyone else try this stuff? Wow. Just thought I'd share.

Thats great to hear!! How did you clean the cushions? pull em out and scrub with a brush or just a good rinse while in the boat?

Ive got a few stains and nothing is helping out. Would be interested, even thought, i don't have a mid-ocean murder scene on my boat, the Ga red clay builds up and is a bitch to get off.

I'm sure you did this already, but make sure you condition the cushions with a protectant after they are cleaned.

I have a few stains on my seats, although I have only tried the 303 multi purpose cleaner and I don't think its a very good cleaner. It gets dirt that any cleaner would get and doesn't seem to go the extra mile and surprise me by getting out a stain. Windex would probably work better.

You feel the cleaner you are talking about is safe for our seats? Maybe I'll try it out

Been using Roll-Off for years. Its a great all-in-one to have in your arsenal. I generally use this as a de-bugger on the front ends of the exotics I care for. It is tough enough to break down the bugs and guts but doesn't harm the wax layers. Great for brake dust, vinyl ..... well just about anything!

I have to agree with their 303 cleaner.. not impressed at all. Now the protectant I love.... Fabric guard for the Bimini and moring cover is amazing. Hell, I use it on our lawn furniture outside and it works great...

Agreed, I've used the protectant for a while now.

@flyingnugget @Michael Rasmussen I cleaned the seats tonight but did not condition yet, will do that tomorrow after they have dried better. As far as cleaning the seats, some I just sprayed it on and wiped it off with some towels. The harder stains I sprayed and then scrubbed with a brush lightly and everything came out, then just wiped down with a towel again. Worked even better on the hard surfaces.

What is the magic cleaning agent? Bleach or peroxide are usually in mold removers, and I worry about the long term effect on vinyl. Did they send a safety data sheet? I didn't see one when I looked quickly online.

Roll-Off is a degreaser so I don't think there's any bleach

I few years ago I had stupidly left my clean out plug on my seat for about a month in the winter. Not sure what it was, but there were these orange stains that NOTHING would touch. I ended up having to get them repainted, but even still, the stains came through a bit. Not sure if it was some sort of mold, etc.

In the process, I tried a few cleaners and overall Simple Green does a very good job on day-to-day cleaning of SeaDek and the seat cushions.

What are you guys using for protection on the seat cushions? You mentioned VLP, is it this stuff?

The only 2 cleaners I ever use on my boat are easy to use under the right conditions, almost effortless once started . They're called my kids. They eat a lot, smell really bad at times, cost more and more every year. Clean fish guts...not a chance. When they finish, the boat is even dirtier than when they started. But after a day on the water having fun you won't recall how long cleaning up the boat took.20131010_144724.jpg
