So I finally got tired of going to the helm to control iPhone music being plugged into wire and I bought the Fusion Bluetooth Dongle for about $35. Got it installed in about 10 min and it works great. I walked down my alley 50 yards or so before it began to cut out. The stern remote works great to control our old iPod that is in the Fusion HU, but playing the same songs gets old and I 've found we have been listening to Pandora or the kids using their music apps. This will let folks just connect any source via Bluetooth from anywhere in the boat.

Could also use waterproof pouch out in the water to control volume and music. Does anybody do that?

My phone is often in one of the swim deck cup holders for controlling music. Some of that time it is safely in a life proof case.

Hi fellas!

Bought the same dongle earlier this year and still haven't installed it. I got to the point where I'm tired of plugging the phone in also

What's the best source for power for the dongle. Should I just tap into the head unit wires? If so, are there some special "marine" t-taps you guys recommend for this?

Any advice would be appreciated!

I've been using the Fusion for a couple of years. Works great.

I tapped into the 12V going to the radio.
I just tied in to my amp power (+ and - ) and also the turn on wire...essentially just putting the wires in the lug and tighten them down. It draws very little power. Tie in to radio power is a good idea too.
