Help - Port Engine Not Starting

I would double check the fuses again as Cam stated also. If you have your blower on and turn the key does the blower slow down at all? If it does the system is at least pulling power if not it is not getting power past the key switch. So it could be faulty wiring or maybe a throttle position indicator on that motor for neutral maybe. I know the Yamaha connectors a pin can come loose at times anywhere and sometimes unplugging and plugging back in helps. Or someone with YDS around could help.

Do you have a multimeter? If not you can get one at any hardware store, auto parts store or Walmart. All you need is voltage and continuity testing capability. You do not need extreme accuracy so something less than $20 should be fine.

Testing or replacing all the fuses could be a good start to fixing this. Sometimes fuses look ok but are bad.

Have you looked into the jet to see if something is stuck in there! It is possible that the pump is preventing the starter turning.

The starter is located under the exhaust manifold towards. The front of the engine. It is held in place by two bolts There are two wires connected to it. The first is a ground wire that connects to the lower mounting bolt that goes into the block and the second is a positive wire that goes to the outside of the starter. Check those connections. But I agree with the other guys above, if the battery wires got crossed, there's a strong likelihood that you blew a fuse in the main fuse block for that engine located on the front "firewall" of the engine compartment.

So it turned out to be that the kill switch under the cleanout port hatch was bad. Ordered a new one today and should get it tomorrow. Thanks for all the input. Stay tuned and pray for me this weekend.
