If it was only a short while (under 60 seconds?), it is probably fine. If too long, water may have made its way into the cylinders and could hydrolock and damage parts if you try to start it. If you want to play it safe, pull the coils and plugs from every cylinder and then turn it over a few times. If there is water in the cylinders it will shoot out. Then you can reinstall plugs and run it for a few minutes on the hose to get any remaining moisture out of the combustion area.

Pull the plugs. Do NOT crank the engine with the plugs in. Once plugs are pulled, don't install the lanyard but turn the key to turn over the engine so that it will pump out any water that may have flooded the cylinders. If no water pumps shoots out of the spark plug holes then no water made it to the cylinders yet.

Flush procedure is engine ON water ON. Water OFF engine OFF.

Ok, has anyone seen pictures on this or a step by step with a video or some pictures. I'm assuming 1st step is removing the engine cover?

@SCP1 Glad to hear you have it working, usually it's simple stuff, be sure to check out our FAQ tab at the top of the page for lots of great tips about taking care of your jetboat (including changing your oil and spark plugs)

@captras thanks for the link, I've added it to the FAQ, if you ever find anything else good ping me or Julian to add them,

Boats work better when used often. Holding operating temperature allows humidity to evaporate from oil, and keeps all parts well lubricated.

It's like voting.. do it early and often.
