Hurricane prepare

If they pay me off and I keep it. Will it be worth any money on a trade for a new one?

Would you disclose to the dealer that the boat had flood damage? If you do, I doubt it would be worth much trade-in wise, and if you didnt, it would be kind of crappy for whoever buys the boat from the dealer.

There isn’t any damage. Boat is almost meant. Trailer would have a salvage title. Trying to find out about the boat. The agent said after seeing the other boats in the area is why he is coming to this conclusion. I called the insurance company after seeing the pics of my home while in the mountains. The boat floated up even with the plug out and the front anchored down. When I came home the boat had moved 3-4 ft. My Neighbors boat is 1/4 mile in the woods. Looks like he took it mudding.

Do you have titles for the boat and trailer now or does a bank have it? I think if you have the titles, they wont get branded, but if the insurance company gets the titles, they brand them salvage. In Virginia, they don't issue salvage titles for watercraft.

Would they deduct the estimated salvaged value off the insurance check?

I have the titles for both. I’m suppose to hear from the insurance company later this week.

It gets worse. So pissed. The insurance company called. Said that my boat is worth over 24 but when I added my jet ski back to my policy the da woman changed my boat and jet ski value to 8k. So they can only pay 8. She told me that the reason my bill went lower was due to a multi boat policy. So now I’m fighting for this too.

I found out a few months back somehow this happened to my insurance too I was pissed. They had my 2017 AR240 insured for 10K luckily I wasn't filing a claim but I was not happy with them as I gave them a specific value to insure it to and that wasn't it. I sure hope everything works out man!

I missed the call tonight that they opened an investigation into it and to call them back Monday.

I’ve been busy rebuilding the house but I am no longer a boat owner. At least for a little while. Insurance company gave me 26k for my boat. I couldn’t buy it back from them. The bank is holding all our insurance money for the house so we have been paying for the house ourselves. this boat money is gonna help til the bank decided to come inspect. Can’t wait to see what I buy next.

So they didn’t give you the option to buy it back?

As soon as I get my house fixed I will be trying to purchase one even though I’ve got some time to look. I’m glad this happened after boat season.
