I bet it leaves flames on the water surface when it hits 88 mph..
Twin, parrallel flames, equidistant to the corresponding JetNozzles whence they came.

I noticed that the current financing offers from Yamaha expire on 8/23 this month. They normally expire at the end of the month. My money is on getting some news on the 2017 models on or around 8/23..

The 2016 details were posted on Aug 22nd last year, so you probably have a few weeks yet to go.

Ok if Yamaha is only adding a Limited and Limited S to to the 21' lineup then I think they are really missing a the potential demographic for more sales. There is such a huge price gap from the 19' to 21' boats that adding an AR or SX 21' back into the fold would seem like a much better chance to increase sales rather than make two more higher priced models. Also the fact they all say 122 KW sounds like no TR-1 after all.

Agree who wants a more expensive 21 foot boat options unless they are able to rival dedicated wake boats which I doubt a 21 limited and limited S will. My guess is a 21' limited would overlap the price of SX/AR 240 with similar functionality but in a smaller package. In reading these boards that doesn't seem to be the demand.

I agree there wouldn't be much difference between a 212X and a 212 Limited S... The bigger gap is at the lower price point SX/AR 210

My OCD just went haywire with the way that list was ordered in the CARB filing...

So here's what we are looking at in order (by what I would think) in the smallest to largest and likely the lowest to highest price.

19' group - 2016 prices: $27,999 - $29,999
  • SX190 (122 kW)
  • AR190 (122 kW)
21' group - 2016 prices: $45,999 - $49,499
  • 212 Limited (122 kW) (No tower, replacing the SX210)
  • 212 Limited S (1 22 kW) (Tower and no ballast system, replacing the AR210)
  • 212X (122 kW) (Tower and ballast system? A 'wake sports' boat, basically a 21' version of the 242X?)
24' group - 2016 prices: $50,999 - $58,999
  • SX240 High Output (122 kW)
  • AR240 High Output (122 kW)
  • 242 Limited S (122 kW)
24' E-series group - 2016 prices: $61,999 - $71,999
  • 242 Limited E-series (122 kW) kW)
  • 242 Limited S E-series (122 kW)
  • 242X E-series (122 kW)

In how they have the 24' setup, I would guess that the current 212SS is essentially the same as new 212 Limited, and a 212 Limited S would just be an added wake tower to the 212 SS. If that's the case why would you buy an Limited S and not a X?

That would be a huge jump from a 19' to 21' in price...Basically $15,000-$20,000 to make the jump.

Under these assumptions, you could jump 21' to 24' for only $1500
