JetBoatPilot Lateral Thruster Debut!!

Just ordered. Hopefully get them before gets too cold here.

Woo Hoo! Thanks @Pinhacker71 we have been testing non stop and have another test scheduled for in the morning. I can tell you that I do not see any benefit in buying the tandem single setup based on today's testing. The twins are every bit as good and don't have any moving parts. No moving parts means no chance for failure. We don't anticipate failure on our moving parts but if you can eliminate the potential that is obviously the way to go.

@JetBoatPilot I have been working with Kelly today on pre booking the lateral thrusters for my AR240. I even sent her pictures of my Thrust Vector XVs and she said they would require trimming to be compatible with the laterals. I know you have a template for trimming but my question is IF I totally screw it up is the price she quoted for trade in still good if I butcher the old ones ? Don't suppose you guys would do the trimming if I sent them to you ??

If you butcher it then we can sell you a new set of fins and hardware at a discounted rate. Did she tell you which version that you have?

No she did not indicate that but has pictures from multiple angles. They were purchased thru and installed by my dealer when I bought the boat new in April 2016 ?

I think I saw those pictures and if memory serves me correctly you have a second generation xv kit. The trim job should not be very difficult if you have a bandsaw or jigsaw. I believe we talked about twin engine kits costing $100 to upgrade and single engine kits costing $50 to upgrade.

Yep , thats the price she quoted. Think I'm just going to let her send me both when I call back tomorrow am. I can do a LOT of damage with a jigsaw and don't want to risk it. Thanks

Ok thanks! I think that is the way a lot of guys are going to go. You'll also benefit from the added spray guard.

how does the upgrade work. I would probably prefer just upgrading myself instead of cutting. Is it a whole new setup, and we ship everything (fins and hardware) back from the old version, or is it just new fins shipped and old fins returned

You won't need to send back old fins. Just purchase the new fins and cross members plus show proof of purchase from JBP or one of our dealers. Original hardware should work fine.

i looked and i do not have my records of purchase... would you have the record. It would have been direct through you... i still have the original box however.

If you ordered from us we will have it on file.

I have a question for those watching this thread. Would special colors be of interest to anyone? We have had some ask if they could get red or blue to make the Lateral Thrusters stand out from the pump. Before we go into doing this I wanted to put it out there and see what you guys and gals think.

Since it looks like a 5 minute installation (removal) I think I'd rather it be as inconspicuous as possible to reduce temptation.

No color desire here

Red would be cool to match my boat but it wouldn't influence my decision. I've already pre ordered.

Black for me...gray/black boat!

Will, I have a set of Thrust Vector XL's that I purchased from you back in 08/2014. Does the $100 upgrade apply to the XL's or just the XV's?

Unfortunately just XV's. We can do $150 on XL since the upgrade would pretty much be a completely new kit.
