JetBoatPilot SeaDek Faux Teak Group Buy

Not many guys have responded to the initial offering. I will have to see if we can get a small batch made up. Can you drop me a line in a few weeks when I am back in town from my vacation to check on the progress. I will try to get them going while I'm gone, but we're wide open right now with the group buy and getting mats cut so likely not going to happen quickly.
Will do.

We are closing the books on the group buy today at close of business. At the moment we are at 45 boats and over a hundred and twenty sheets of material to machine and finish for shipping. We have cut and shipped several already and have completed most of the invoices and payments for this buy. With that said the amount of time to cut this entire order is several weeks worth of work since we only have one machine that can cut the teak material to the level of quality that we've approved. I ask that you please be patient with us as we work through this sudden influx of business.

We have material on the way from SeaDek and have some on hand at the moment. We will do our best to get your orders out to you in a timely fashion but keep in mind that with tons of orders comes tons of admin! We will send you e-mails when your specific order is ready to ship and include a tracking number for you. The orders will ship via UPS and should take about 3-5 days for domestic deliveries and about a week for Canadian shipments.

I want to thank all of the forum members that made purchases during this group buy! We, historically, have slowed down this time of year but with this sale we've been pushed into extra hours for the guys out in the shop. It is really great to know that your team will be busy and that you don't have to cut hours or even jobs to weather the brutal off season that typically comes boating related business. Also a big thank you to Bruce and Julian for putting our group buy on the front page. That really got the word out there and our entire team is grateful!

If you have any questions please feel free to contact us at anytime by e-mail or calling 850-867-1410. I will be going out of town on vacation on the 8th and returning on the 16th. I have left detailed instructions on each order and anticipate all will be well as I leave town. If you need to reach me personally during this week I can be reached by phone at 850-960-3236. Between the 8th and the 16th I can be reached by text or e-mail only as I will not be taking calls on vacation. I will try to answer texts and e-mails as often as I can.
No Rush on mine Will,, I will not be installing until spring. Thanks for the great deal. Have a great vacation.

Got my mats today, Thanks Will! I am planning to install them this weekend. Can anybody post a link for me if the install process has already been discussed in detail. I understand the basics but if there are any tips or tricks to make it easier that would be helpful.

A couple questions:

What type of caulk should I use to fill the holes?
How long do you wait before installing after you wipe the area with acetone?

Any tips for removing factory swim deck?

Heading to store tomorrow, anything needed besides acetone and caulk?

I will definitely be posting pictures soon!

@JetBoatPilot made a video on installation with a bunch of great pointers:

3M 5200 or 4200 or lifecaulk. I used lifecaulk and let it sit for just one day before I did my install.
How long do you wait before installing after you wipe the area with acetone?
until it is dry which is a couple of minutes
Any tips for removing factory swim deck?
I think removing it when it's cold might work well at first. Then if any residue is left attack it with the either a pressure washer or in my case just some plastic scrapers, a pack of chinese magic erasers, and some elbow grease.
Heading to store tomorrow, anything needed besides acetone and caulk?
maybe some plastic scrapers
I will definitely be posting pictures soon!
I'm looking forward to seeing all the cool installs. According to Will that should be over 40 posts. I suggest we start a new thread for all of them.

Yeah, all total 45 unique boats, and colors ranging from Mica over black, mocha over black, storm gray over black, charcoal over black, mica over white and even some regular storm gray SeaDek.

I need to start a gallery page on the website so you guys can show off your stuff.

Or on your gallery page you could just put up a link to the install thread on jetboaters.net . . . .:winkingthumbsup"

Yeah, there would be tons of useful info there. I am going to see about making this happen.

Wow with 45 boats getting it done mine won't look so unique anymore lol... But thankfully(or unfortunately) there aren't too many Yamaha's up here in Canada, so I should still stand out lol... Funny how the membership is really concentrated on the east side of the country.

The membership is concentrated on the east side of the country because the bulk of the Yamaha dealerships are on the east side of the country as well as the majority of US citizens according to our maps. Just take a look at the membership map here and also our dealer map on our website and you will see how that works out.

We just signed up a new dealer in Canada yesterday. Not sure how near you are to Alberta. Check out Riverside Marine if you are nearby.

That's actually where I deal with, just got them to throw on a snap in cover and a rock guard for the trailer. They will be carrying most of your products? Or just ordering stuff off you, then reselling to consumers at a price bump? Curious to see how there prices will be compared to your website!

@Bacchus_fl, I sealed the holes with 3m 5200.

I probably installed the mats on the swim deck 20 minutes after the last wipe with acetone.

My opinion from my one experience with removing the swim deck mats is that they come off easier cold. So I would park the boat in a cool shaded place. Then I would consider applying ice or pointing an air conditioner at the mats. I used plastic paint scrapers to peel up the corner then slowly pull up the whole mat. This worked on all but the one that had been warmed by my butt sitting on it. I did not try to cool my mats but the boat was in my basement which might have been as cool as 60 degrees.

How much did you need to use? Will a single 3oz tube be enough? or am I looking to get multiple tubes or a cartridge?

image.jpg I installed the cockpit this morning. Forgot to take pics when I finished but snapped a quick one after cruising the river this afternoon (will take a better pic tomorrow). Absolutely love them! Easy install and our feet are thankful!! I didn't get to the swim deck today and thinking I may wait for the stock tread to wear a littl more. Does the Seadek fade much? Will it be noticeable if I wait until this time next year to install the swim deck?

Honestly I love projects so I probably won't be able to wait that long. :D.

I am interested to see how durable they are but the comfort and style points way up! :winkingthumbsup"

Very sharp! Nice work. :)

Thanks guys! We love it so far. Here are the better pics that I promised. Can't wait to see the other installs.

Wouldn't you know it this past weekend my son decided to smoke a cigar on my boat and dropped an ash on my swim deck... needless to say I was pissed and am now looking at the faux teak for the swim platform.... and now there is a no smoking rule on my boat because of it. I also would like some on the walk through over the engine but I only see those mats on Wills site offered in the factory stuff. Another winter project for me... my wallet hates me!
