Just installed Hydro Teak

Looks great @Bruce. I was just wondering how many times you had to run up and down the stairs to reposition the boat to get that shot just right. ;)

Monday morning I dropped the boat outside the garage with plans to clean out the debris from the jets and flush the engines later in the day. I went upstairs to check and see how the family was progressing on getting ready for a pond fishing trip and noticed that I could see all the mats below. I was too lazy to go back down and reposition the boat so that it would be straight in the picture. But I did lean out of the third story window to get the best angle!

This was our next stop where the kids filled an ice chest with bream.

Looks great. Very classy! :winkingthumbsup"

Since this is Hydro-Turf material, I'm interested to see how long it holds up. The hydro-turf on my swim platform was only good for 3 years in the Texas sun. Replaced it twice and now I have Sea-Dek, but only on the swim platform. Don't know how long it will last, but I'm sure it will have to be replaced eventually. That's what keeps me from doing the whole cockpit

I'm right there with you. After replacing my rear mats this weekend I wouldn't want to do the entire cockpit for fear of having to pull it up!

If I had to pull it up I would replace it with the same. So cleanup would just be a matter of removing any high spots. My thinking on this is that just like boat covers and carpet wear out the Hydro-Turf or Seadek will as well.

I guess the Seadek will not leave any adhesive residue after you pull it up??? Pulling it up shouldn't be an issue, I'm talking about the clean up and prep for replacement.

I've replaced the covers and turf twice already, but I'm still on the original carpet.

I wouldn't count on it...Check out this thread posted by @Detonate ...

@maboat . I was being facetious on the cleanup...forget that. I've thought long and hard about doing the entire boat but no way I would ever want to clean the residue from the entire boat. I'm on my 7th season with the carpet and it's in relatively good shape.

Where is the Hyrdo Teak sold or a similar item?

@Noko, Hydro Teak is what http://jetboatpilot.com calls their specially engraved Hydro Turf product. JPB offers similar Seadek products as well.

Looks awesome!!! :winkingthumbsup"

wicked awesome @Bruce !! this is a winter 2014/spring2015 project for me...I love the look it gives. My aft end black mats make the feet black and drag it thru the boat...no likey !

Can you still use the center seat cushion with this stuff? I'm guessing it'll fit but be slightly elevated...is it elevated "too much" . We seldom use that seat cushion, but when its needed its welcome......example: the rough Bimini crossing last year was much better on the spines sitting in this back section...

@justason , it would be elevated about 1/4". I think it will be fine but have not tried it.

I put hydroturf in both of my boats center seats and the seat works just fine. It really should be standard as that is a big slipping hazard area...

Man that sure does look good. I'll be ordering some from Jet Boat Pilot hopefully this year.

@geiger41, this is my install and pics. We have been using the Hydro Turf for a few months now and love it. It feels great on our feet and knees. I absolutely would install it again.

The only issue I have had is that clay soil and algi seem to get into the pores and have to be scrubbed off with a brush and simple green. I am planning to see if Scotchgard will help with this.

Everyone that sees our boat loves the flooring!

Is the Hydro-turf open cell or closed cell ? Is that part of the issue with algi/clay ?
