Hi evreyone,

i just bought two of these bumper for my 252Se that i will get delivery this month

I will probably buy 2 more if i like them...

plz reply if you using them ?

On a dock do you use 2 or 3 on the same side of the Boat ?

have you attach two boats with those ?

Thx in advance

I would not use those to tie to a boat or use them in any kind of conditions where it is rough. Those kinds of fenders are more for looks amd style than absolute protection. If you want the best protection you’re going to need to look into the large inflatable balls. I switched to inflatable ballas and will never go back to any other fender, they’re that good at protecting your boat no matter the dock height, condition or boat you tie up next to.

I dock my Boat in a canal that goes to a lake... so i won't get any waves or rough conditions

Should be fine then at your dock. I would not tie up next to a boat with those if it were my boat.

No thanks. Babz is the only thing I will use from now on after using them for 1 season. They are bulletproof, and added security especially for newer boaters

I have four onboard. Over the last two seasons they have worked great. Very versatile and can be used in many different ways. I have not tied off to another boat. Would definitely buy them again.

I have four of them. Wanted to love them. They looks great on the boat. However not ideal. Really depends on the height of the docks you are going to use. On my 25ft they are perfect for the transom cleats. For the rest most of the time they are not ideal. First the cleats on those boats are not well located. You need thicker fenders. Went back to regular fenders (or balls as suggested by others)

I don't really like them. They're much more slim than a normal round fender so they provide less distance between the dock and boat. I tie them to dock piers though where the boat can move forward and back.

Also, I installed a fourth cleat near the front of the windshield because the distance between the center and front cleat combined with the shape of the boat meant the boat contacted the dock.

You install the cleat yourself ?
Where did you bought it ?

I installed it myself. It's the "Neat Cleat" from Attwood marine, purchased from Overton's. It required a 1" hole saw. I also reinforced the fiberglass from the back side with a piece of 1/2" thick plastic.

They look like the original ?

I use the mission sentry's and they work fantastic on my boat and the docks I have been to. No complaints, no scuffs, no damage. I do not tie up to other boats so I have no idea how they would work in that situation personally.

What other foam alternatives? The rubber ones scratch the shit out of your boat (especially with black paint and salt water)

Some people use the mission Icon

Yamaha makes a folding / contour fender that is like a Sentry minus foam. They’ve been making them for many years. Google contour boat fenders and I’m sure you’ll find them. They don’t offer a lot of protection similar to the Sentry fenders. The biggest issue with the Yamaha boats aside from the way the hull curves inward is the placement of the cleats. All of them could be in better locations. The front is too far forward, the rears are too low and the midship could be further back. They should have put the rears on top of the gunnel area where is skips back before the swim deck. Wouldn’t look as nice but it would at least be functional.

Personally I’d still recommend big balls for most protection over style points. If they get gritty you can always dunk them to clean them off before using. I’ve been using them for 3 years now and zero scuffs or scratches from them but I also make sure they’re clean.

I have the black Yamaha ones contour ones. They kinda suck IMO.

I will prob try the Icons at some point.

I think they were originally designed for Yamaha PWC’s, which makes sense with the foot wells and curvy body shapes. A bit different when I comes to protecting a larger surface and extra cost of a boat for sure. Scratch on a PWC and I probably don’t care much but a scratch on the boat is a much different story lol.
