My 2015 Yamaha 242 Limited S

@Jackew ............ You're most welcome.
Glad it worked out. Happy to help you or anyone, anytime !

Best Wishes, and continued great boating.
We took Miss B'Haven out tonight. Had a blast on Oconee.

Well thanks all for the warm welcome and all the great advice. Got the additional stern mats coming from jetboatpilots.com (they're great btw). Took it out for the maiden voyage today which was great until the engines stopped. Did the break in steps with no issues all morning, was pulling my son on his kneeboard and all of a sudden, lost power and then the engines shut off. Smoke filled the engine compartment and storage compartments. Zero warnings on the dash. I pulled the plugs, and nothing coiled in there, check all compartments, no water anywhere. Engines restarted, but with no thrust. Oil levels were fine also. Had to get towed in which was a first for me in 5 years of boating. First thought is obviously the pumps and cavitation, but it's both engines at the exact same time, so seems more computer controlled? Any Thoughts? I've had Yamaha's and Seadoo's for years, never had this issue; and pretty disappointing for a brand new boat. Also, when you shut off the engines (for a wakeboarder to get back on), it shuts off the display also. Then when you turn the keys back to "on", it has to reboot the screen and do all the beeping. Is this correct, seems crazy? And lastly, can anyone tell me if this is the correct bow roller? I had a galvanized trailer custom painted and am wondering if they switched the bow roller from another trailer as it just doesn't seen to fit the contours of the bow V at all. Thanks again everyone.

@Nesport , my Connext shuts off on me to. I believe it's a general fault of the design. To avoid the "reboot" just turn your blower on before shutting off the engines. Keeps everything running smoothly.

great idea, thanks Bennie. I will say, that's one thing that Seadoo designed better, one key to power the system, and then start buttons for each engine on/off, versus two keys that you had to keep cranking and killing all power.

Smoke? Strange! The way you state what happened I can only think that you had an exhaust system leak which will suffocate both motors.

Looks great! Those JL's look great where they are on your tower.

@sysinu they are mounted just to the inside of the tweeters on the rear bar.

Very good looking boat, indeed!

No, as a matter of fact, @OperationROL's Wife denied me of boating time this weekend. Twice this weekend, I got to watch @Wake08 take off with his boat to hit the river. I was lucky enough to get to do yard work!! Yeah!! :(

@Williamsone46 - did you encounter any problems trying to mount those on the rear bar? My dealership insisted that they couldn't be mounted there due to a plate in the way that they couldn't get through.
They look sooo much better mounted on the rear bar.

@Bennie None at all. Yamaha had them mounted there at the as well. All the wires run through the front bar for the tower lights and tweeters, so you have to be careful not to hit those if you mount to the front bar. The real bar is completely empty and super easy.

Wow this so odd. Both engines and smoke! The engines restarted so the pumps must be turning. I am interested to hear what this ends up being..
