It's not making a vacuum, I pulled the mounting boot and rolled the oring around underneath it and reapplied the boot along with a small smear of grease to help get a good seal on the pump. Almost seems like the piston inside the pump is loose although you can hear air pushing through when you pump it??

Anyone have experience with one not working correctly?

If you decide it is not worth fixing, I'm happy to send you mine. just PM me an address, I think I can drop it off at the USPS tomorrow. I think I have the same model, no longer use it as I have been using a big one I got for my diesel car.

thank you for the offer but I stopped by West Marine and bought a new one this morning, I may have overfilled my transmission in my truck so I needed to solve the problem today,

Excellent! My extractor is going to VA I think, lol.

And BTW - if anyone is looking for a good extractor - if have had really good luck with a big one from IDParts

I does two engines in no time. They occasionally have it on sale, packaged with something else.

Problem solved,

After numerous emails back and forth with Pela (their website and videos were very lacking in info) we finally narrowed it down to the red cap on the suction tube assembly.

Pela was very patient with my questions and would normally answer next day, I was satisfied with them.

Why the red cap lost it's shape or doesn't fit tight anymore is anyone's guess. The new one fits very snug.

The new one was $11.83 but the real sour feeling was $9.95 to ship with the postal service.
