Am I doing something wrong when trying to deploy the front ladder in the anchor box? Having clearance issues when trying to fold it out. The only way I can get it out is to slide it about halfway forward and flip it over. It still makes contact with the lid. Is this normal?

Second pic is with the ladder slid all the way forward, no go. Last pic has it slid halfway up and it still makes contact, but I can get it deployed.

TBH I don't know, but will look tomorrow how mine works.

Maybe it’s out of adjustment? Looks like the rails are slotted, maybe slide it forward. Funny, I’ve never tried mine yet.

on the 250 you have to slide it all the way out before you flip the steps down to clear the hatch. We actually use the front ladder a lot to get on the boat from the jet dock... works great. If yours doesn’t clear when slid all the way out it may need adjustment.

@RobbieO @LakesideLaw if I slide it all the way forward, I run into what the second pic shows. Can’t even flip the ladder over at all. There’s a small window when you slide it halfway where I can flip the ladder over. Even then, it still touches the lid a bit. Feel like there should be no contact. I might wait until it’s first service to have then look at it.

I’ll have to check mine as well. Yours probably just needs to be adjusted hopefully

I wonder if the shock is incorrectly installed? My anchor locker hatch seems to open up far more than yours, which is the problem you have there.

The ladder can only move in a certain way, and you have very little margin for installation, so the problem lies with what is in the way, not the ladder, since everything you've described indicates that the ladder isn't wonky.

Pulling the clip on the shock and removing it from the hatch (or undoing the shock mount) will show if it can open wider. If it can, then you either need to reposition the shock mount or replace the shock with a longer one.

I just verified on mine. My hatch also opens farther than yours as @drewkaree does.

Thanks fellas. I knew something wasn’t right. Really appreciate y’all checking yours. I’ll play around with it.

From what I can see, after taking a closer look, you really only have one option if you are not the handy type. You are going to need a longer shock.

There is a piece of metal on the back side of this area I circled in pink, that needs to be removed, gently, and then your shock should pull right off of that ball stud that is underneath the head of shock.

See how much more you need to open your hatch, and place the shock against the hatch. if you want to try the DIY fix, that spot is where you need to move the post mount. If you don't want another hole, measure from that spot to the existing post mount, and buy a shock that much longer than the original

The post should just screw out. They may have pressed in a nutsert or used a t-nut, or they may have just Drilled a smaller hole and relied on friction to make the magic happen.

Thanks! I’ll give it a shot.
