Hello Everyone,
I have been waiting several years to buy an new boat and purchased a 2020 a 210 FSH Sport last September. Knowing none of this info I need to know, I feel like I have researched everything so much, I know enough to be scared to make a decision. I added the Terrova trolling motor, and now want to add a Hummingbird Fish Finder so I can network and take advantage of the ipilot functionality. I live in the very Southeast Corner of Alabama, so I will be fishing the bays in Panama City and Destin area, as well as Freshwater in Lake Eufaula.

My questions are:
- What is the best placement for the Transducer due to the jet drive outputs potentially affecting the display?
- Is there a specific transducer recommended over another?
- Planning on using a Solix 10 MEGA but not sure which model would best fit the boat...recommendations/experience would be great!

I am sure with these 3 questions, many of you could write a book with all your knowledge. I am grateful for any any and all information provided and look forward to the feedback. Thanks in advance!!!

I can't really help with the question, but welcome to the forum. It's nice to have another Alabama native here.

Glad to be here, born and raised in LA! - Thanks!

Welcome!

I hung my transducer off the transom, in the typical fashion. No issues with the jet or anything so far.

Do you have an preference in electronics? Thanks for the pic

Well, my brother set me up with this fabulous fishfinder from Garmin. But I fish so infrequently and am so bad at it, I don't know that I would take my advice on anything in that field... But I do like the Garmin. Only wish it was one of the ones that could take a memory card, so I could load maps and so-forth.

I’ll get a pic of my placement tomorrow. It works up to about 30-33 mph, then I lose reading. It also washes out in reverse, but that might be due to placement. I had to move it closer to center to accommodate the trim tabs.

Here’s the original placement. I moved it within an inch of the ride plate (black metal piece to the right).

Thank you for the pics, that looks great - I checked out your link and it looks like you have made plenty of upgrades. What made you decide to add trim tabs?
Comfort. Took a 20 mile ride down the ICW (in the dark) on a gusty evening. It was choppy to say the least. It was that moment I decided to install them. Best mod to date, really smoothed out the ride.

I'm looking at mounting a Lowrance 3 n 1 almost exactly like you have it. Did you see any performance differences between the 2 locations?

Not much. I get a bit more washout in reverse with it mounted closer to the jet like it is now, but no choice really.

Did you lose signal above 30 mph in both mounting locations? I'm going to mount my transducer this weekend and getting nervous!

This is where mine ended up after the third try and speaking with simrad. Works perfect but now i want to move it to get trim tabs, but not sure where to put it after tabs installed. I would say if I had to do it again I would put it on the left (port) side to avoid livewell pick up. But thats where the dealer had already mounted it.

installed a Garmin 94 sv+ in my new FSH 210. Works great all the way to max speed , except in corners or reverse. I am very happy with the way it all turned out. Transducer is mounter parallel to the waterline just outboard of the aft end of the ride plate. I used a straightedge from the boat bottom to align the top edge of the transducer on the side towards the centerline of the boat. Making sure when you drill the holes in the bracket you are centered allowing adjustment up or down as needed using 5200 on the screws. During the first trial it lost the bottom at 28 mph. I lowered the aft end of the transducer 5mm on the next try. Works perfect all the way to maximum speed! I drilled a hole for the transducer cable adjacent to the Port jet shifter cable using the supplied clamshell and 5200 to seal the cable penetration and ran the cable in the wire race with the shift cable to the console.

Since this post I have added Lenco trim tabs. I left the Transuducer where it was.

I’d say I keep reading mostly to full speed. On occasion it will stop, but usually it’s for a second or two at a time.

the speedo wheel for the factory speedometer is also on the STBD (right side) it will cause turbulence.

Probably too high. Read how I positioned mine. I was in the business a long time
