No drama cooler thread!

That is a good sign Benny! I think we made a good choice.

Stole an idea from @CAM212SS and got some help from @JetBoatPilot. Will sit between the seats all the way towards the bow of the boat. 20180419_191917.jpg 20180419_191912.jpg

My wife bought a bunch of "thirty one" bags from a friend that are soft and thermal lined. Fill with some frozen water and blue ice and good for a day. Usually drop them in the center storage locker which helps keep them cool.

Hmmm, after reading your post directly after @Scottie ’s cooler post, we might have to pull your man-card.

HA! Only reason it gets used is cuz she's the one that makes the food! I man the grill! That a little better?
But yeah, @Scottie cooler is pretty cool

I’m just messing with you. I always have a Thirty-One bag full of stuff on my boat too due to marital adjustment of my masculinity.

2 yeti 45's. Yeti Roadie 24. Yeti Tundra - Original (Opening sucks).

I love all my Yeti's. They have withstood many many years of use as marketed. I was an early adopter and had these before all the other options utilizing the same design thinking.

45's get loaded with drinks for the weekend. 24 totes food needing to be cooled. All hold enough ice from friday night through sunday evening every weekend.

Soft bags are easier to carry and the openings have been modified well on many current coolers. I only use mine for the beach or as overflow on boat if needed.

Today's hard coolers all employ the same technology, so go with what you want.

I was never a big subscriber to the 5 day coolers until I bought my RTIC Soft 30 followed by my RTIC hard 20. More relevant than the ability to keep ice for several days is that you don’t need as much ice to last 1 day. 5 lbs of ice will get you through a whole day with ease which leaves a lot more room for food & drinks. To me that advantage makes these types of coolers worth 2x what a cheap Coleman costs.

Follow up. Perfecto!20180420_183932.jpg

Had that built 3 years ago. Local dock company did a nice job.

Wow, that's a gorgeous dock.

Finally got to put that Ozark trail cooler on the boat. Super nice, not sure its insulated well enough for several days worth of ice, but should be great for daytrips.

Edit: Next to an RTIC30 for reference

Was at Camping World recently........all day long......... 9 -1/2 hours to be exact, anyways we were there so long that the manager brought out a $100 dollar gift card for myself and the wife so we decide to pick up this cooler.

Haven't used it yet but it is a 40 can soft sided cooler. I actually like the sealed zipped on this cooler. Feels heavy duty and robust. I will report back once we use it this weekend.
