Non Toxic Rust & Corrosion Protectant

I've been using fluid film since I got my boat. I like it, seems to work good, and I read an article a long time ago about someone testing all the different protectants, FF was #2 I believe, I don't remember what #1 was but I know I couldn't go to AutoZone and buy it like I can FF.

Maybe I'm just old fashioned, but I always use just a silicone spray on all exposed metal surfaces when I put the boat away after using it. I often go long periods of time between uses (1-6 months) and even after long periods of time that silicone residue seems be hanging in there. Never had an issue with rust even after many years and being stored next to the ocean. I almost tried the Boeshield T9 last time, but then my cheapness got the better of me and I went with the silicone again. Also, I was worried about what would happen with the over spray on things like gel coat and had to be careful not to get any on the anodes. Do you have to keep FF off the anodes also?

No, it's lanolin based..never harmed anything. I DO NOT like silicone. I had to school my dealer on that too

I have FF, learned about it on a Honda Jetski forum. It has a distinctive smell thats not for everyone

Yeah, my first use of it was lubing a seat track in my wife's Tahoe...I should have left the windows down:-)
It's not a bad smell to me, smells like the lanolin oil I guess.

I don't spray it on my anodes, I don't know if it will affect them but I wouldn't think you'd want to coat them with anything at all.

If your anodes are not eroding, they are not working. Their job is to erode so the rest of your metal parts don't. I agree that you should definitely avoid covering them with anything.
