Also we went out of deception pass and had some bad chop from the current going out but slack tide was great six lanes and a ton of parking no dealing with tides except going the pass but great times check out my route

looks awesome man we just went to lake cushman it was great
even saw my future toy that sea plane landed on the lake and drove up the boat launch pretty cool
hitting up riffe lake in two weeks

Lake Cushman looks awesome! We had a lot of haze from the forest fires and we had to outrun a thunderstorm, but besides that we had great weather and calm water.

yea we had all day got on the water at 11 grilled up hamburgers and hotdogs and stayed till 8:30 pm it was good times

Great pictures of Chelan. That is a beautiful lake.

Your pictures of the San Juan's inspired me to take our first trip over on the 4th, with some family that I had in town from New Mexico. We put in at Deception Pass around 1PM. Took our time heading over, stopping a few times to watch the whales surface. We docked at the marina and had a nice dinner, and wondered around town. We made our way back over late in the evening and stayed out in the bay until close to midnight. We could see the fireworks display from Friday harbor, Anacortes, and down Whidbey. Then came back through the pass in the dark. That part was a bit sketchy, but it was a great day. Thanks for the inspiration!

dude thats awesome glad i could give u some inspiration haha lets see some pictures and ya deception pass at night cant imagine that when u wanna go do it again my wife and her friends want togo and how far did u go did u go through the islands or down under the islands and come back through the islands lets all go together one weekend. have a good one man and how was the water at night not the pass but the sound

Thanks for letting me know. I think I fixed it. Have fun at Steamboat, we had a blast! We were in B30 and beached our boat just off B19. It was a bit windy, but all in all we had great weather.

I was going to comment that it looked more windy than usual, that probably helped keep the mosquitoes at bay in the campground. We had a site last year on the water but in the first loop which is closer to the marshy end and the mosquitoes were terrible. This year we chose a spot away from the water to see if that makes a difference. I've never hiked up the rock, can't seem to stay off my boat long enough.

The mosquitoes were not bad at all where we were. They did spray a lot though. Someone said that the parks were being extra vigilant in spraying because there was a reported case of West Nile somewhere else in the state but I don't know for sure. Sure made it nice without the bugs! It took us 45 minutes to hike to the top of the rock. We don't do it every year, but we had my daughter with us and she'd never done it. It's worth doing at least once. And you can see in some of the pictures how taught our anchor line is because of the wind.

My heart goes out to the people around Chelan. This is one of our favorite places to boat in Washington State. Glad to hear Rio Vista Winery survived the fires.

We are taking the boat over to Chelan this weekend to attend a fundraising event at Tildio Winery. They created a wine called Phoenix and are dedicating it to the firefighters for the recent wildfires.

If you have not reserved at this park before and are interested in doing so then please note that the dates fill up as quickly as they become available. At this point July is pretty much booked solid unless you are looking at early July and and only a few spots left for early August. And of course, if you are there during Aug 10 - 16 then I look forward to sharing the lake with you!
