Was fueling boat and thin plastic piece from gas can snapped off the spout and fell into the tank. Have been reading various posts (worry vs not worry). Here’s a pic (red piece fell in)

Not sure how fuel system and filters work on Scarab boats, will this piece block fuel intake.

I wonder if it floats or sinks in gas. I would think sinking is better less moving around.

I believe there is a screen in the filler tube, so it wont go all the way in (not so sure about this I know my truck have it). If there is no screen, there is also a valve for sure (some member showed it with pic right before the tank) that prevents gas from returning back out. If that plastic get stuck there your gas could have a spill or you will have fumes coming out of the filler tube.

[USERGROUP=3]@Administrative[/USERGROUP] maybe move this to an appropriate forum to get more eyes on it, and better responses?
True! But I thought the responses were pretty good! Ha!

@SB Scarab The plastic piece will cause zero issues. The fuel pump has a filter on it that filters out much smaller particles. There is no way for this piece to get into the fuel system at all. No worries at all. Not worth the trouble recover it. You're good to go. Enjoy boating! lol

For all the Yammie owners, I watch the general forum as well. I learn a lot from all boating related info. Unlike many people it seems, I'm not a "Scarab is best no matter what" fanboy. lol But I do like my Scarab.
