@Wayloncle@justason@Helipilot11 Thanks for the compliments. After putting that video together last week I can say I never want to hear that song again!

Well... I don't know that it's your machine that's the problem. just don't use something with an integrated graphics card. Look for something with dedicated memory (not shared) for video. MBP's have dedicated memory in their lineup. The higher end 15" ones even have an NV card in them. If you don't need it to be a laptop, you could just get an imac for 1K, it has pretty good video options. That's what I do all my editing on, the only issue becomes storage space.
BUT, mac or not mac... a lot of it boils down to what software you're using to edit. FinalCutPro on a mac will be great, so will imovie. I don't have experience on Windows with movie maker, maybe it's good... probably not as good as imovie and definitely not as good as FCP. With iMovie, MAC's clip stuff together really well, but they do that by requiring the input format of your media to be a certain type (or you'll have to import the clip and have it remastered) and because of that, the mac appears better but only because imovie optimized the input file type for better handling.
@ScarabMike yea... what he said! I use a newer iMac with iMovie. IT works great and is fast enough for my needs. I tried using my MacBook Pro while on vaction to start editing and it was real sluggish. That being said, the MacBook is about 4 years old and filled up with all sorts of crap! I will chalk up the MacBooks loss in ability due to that.
Wakeboarding on the Ohio River near New Richmond, OH August 10th 2014
My latest attempt. Other than trimming the video and adding the music on YouTube, I didn't do any editing at all.
With a chance for showers in the forecast, the river was fairly calm yesterday. Then we found a spot with virtually no boats at all, so I decided to break out the GoPro head gear. I have been attaching the camera to the board itself, but this was my first time wearing it on my head. I had to add some extra mounting hardware to get the camera far enough above my head so I could have the "floaty" back door on. Usually I finish my ride with some kind of crazy attempt at a jump, but since I didn't want to take a chance on losing the camera I just had my wife slow to a stop.
I just started wakeboarding this June, so I am far from an expert. But I really have been enjoying just cutting back and forth outside of the wake.
Let me preface this video with a couple of things.....
This was only the second time I have ever been on a wakesurf board and only the first time for the others. It was the second time I have ever towed anyone other than a tube. It was the first for the other drivers. We played with the rope length and speed a bit. I have no ballast. The other drivers had a really hard time maintaining a good speed. As soon as the boat would get near 7-8mph, it would want to plane out and shoot to 15+. With that said......its FUN......even with a rope. Oh, and for the life of me, I dont understand why @mwilliams didnt put the ladder up!

Great video... 2 observations 1. It looked like a TON of FUN!!! 2. It looked like the boat was going much faster than most wakesurf rides. But I have never surfed behind our boat, or pulled a surfer so I could be wrong.
That was awesome. I'm hitting the water tomorrow with my wakeboard and gopro, now I'm inspired.
By the way, I've only wake surfed once but it looked like you guys were hauling a$$ the first few seconds of each session. I thought you we're wake boarding not surfing. Gopro f'ing heroes all of you. Right on! Lastly, on the ladder I've driven with it down many times without damaging anything but I have lost a rung cover, cos me $7 plus $8 in shipping.

Yeah....a couple of the runs were dead on 9-11mph. I think the camera made them look faster than they were (maybe the music as well). However, when one of the other guys were driving, he was smooth to get us up, but couldnt get used to dialing back when the boat would try to plane. That is when a lot of the falls happened. Those that surf know there is a HUGE difference in 10 mph vs. 14/15mph and it only takes and second without a perfect pass to cross that threshold. When I was driving, I was able to get the riders to about 8-9 mph, then use my cruise assist. Still considering the perfect pass this winter.
Well... it's not much... coming home after a great day on the water Labor Day weekend, I managed to catch a little lightning strike at the same time as the hole shot coming out of the no wake zone in the ICW... lightning in 14 seconds... bye bye...
Not all gopro but I was still able to do two things this past weekend that I haven't done before. You should be able to figure what they are by watching the attached video (about 3 mins). More to come.
Not mine though I with it was. A YJB member posted this video of his 192 at a small lake. It is very good in my opinion.
I don't have a vimeo acount, if I did I would tell him about this forum without being concerned about retaliation (e. G. Being banned or censured).
