You know that part number or whatever it is type label that comes on new boats on the lower front port side of the hull? It had a clear overlay that of course started to come off after the first time on the water. So I pulled the overlay off and it left this chalky, rough backing on the hull and the white label is still there. I want to remove the white label and clean up any of the leftover adhesive backing. What is the best product to use for this that is also safe for gelcoat?

You can see the little white label I'm referring to in this picture (it's to the right of the bow roller).

for all the 'safety' stickers on the boat (think i had 22 of them?) i peeled them off by hand, then used goo gone to get rid of the left over glue/sticker residue. worked like a charm :).

Same as post above. Gasoline or rubbing alcohol and some elbow grease also work. Just wipe everything dry afterwards

You can also use acetone.

Anyone know what that label is? I'm guessing something the transporters use when shipping boats from the plant? I think mine starts with an F sequence.

PB Blaster works as well.

If you get it out in the sun the heat really helps to pull it off. I have used Acetone and Goo Gone and both work well. I didn't have a sticker there but did every other place!

That's a shipping sticker so they know which boat vin it is without climbing up in the boat.... Mine just came off with use... For the safety stickers i used goo gone

I used a heat gun, elbow grease and rubbing alcohol. 100% of the stickers (including warning) removed.

I still scratch my head as to why they would plaster decals all over a beautifully painted boat. It really gives the boat a clean look when fully de-badged.

I never realized how many safety stickers were on the boat until I started messing with the shipping sticker. There is a lot of 'em!

yeah...mine too some acetone to get that sticker off the bow.

As for all the safety stickers...let them sit in the sun on a warm day for about an hour, then a fingernail lifts them up...and goo-gone cleans the residue off quickly.

As for why there's so many bloody stickers on these boats when new? That's easy: factory workers get paid BY THE STICKER!

More likey that lawyers get paid by the sticker thanks to all the bone headed moments we are all prone to. Some more than others I suspect ;)

Hey now,...I thought we weren't gonna bring those bone headed moments up again.
