Regarding tire pressures, remember the door post sticker pressures are for unloaded vehicles with 1 occupant (driver) only. For every 200-400 lbs of weight (people or cargo) you need to increase tire pressures 1 lb. My truck is listed at 33 psi but I run 35 with just the wife and some cargo which is most of the time. I run 36-38 when going camping for a week with a fully loaded truck. When towing, I add 2 lbs to the rear tires. Factory tires wore evenly to 75,000 miles (121,000 km).

So.. I have a 2006 f250 4 door long bed diesel I use to tow. It has a fiberglass paint matched camper top on the back. I stopped by my local rock quarry today and weighed it with me and my 150 pound son in it and full of fuel. The weight was 7800 pounds. My gvwr is 1000 pounds. So that leaves me with 2200 pounds of payload left. With a weight distribution hitch the ford towing guide says I can pull 15000 pounds. So if I towed a 15000 pound trailer with 10 percent tounge weight that would be 1500 pounds more payload.. under the trucks limits....

:(..... did I do that right?
Yeap, that's correct.

Keep in mind, you have Axle ratings to consider as well. Each axle has a particular rating that is a not-to-exceed number. In the original post at the top he was already carrying 3640lbs on a 3900lb axle. When using a WDH, that 1500lbs of tongue weight is distributed to BOTH axles (that's the whole point of the setup). Seeing as how you are ~700lbs under your rating, I think you're in good shape there, but it's worth a check once you have everything hooked up and ready to roll. Without the WDH you would most likely either be VERY close or over the axle rating on the rear.

This is my sticker... it seems I'm pretty good on Axel weight as well.
