I guess I’m doing this in the next couple of days, as well. Mine is only a year old and I found a broke bunk this weekend. I patched it with a 2x4. Today, I saw that all 6 screws that I ran through the patch into the bunk pulled out like they never even touched the bunk. Crazy!!i noticed one of my forward bunks looked odd so i decided to pull and replace them all anyway. Was surprised on how much rot i found on a 4 year old trailer View attachment 119927View attachment 119928
How long of staples do you suggest?I guess I’m doing this in the next couple of days, as well. Mine is only a year old and I found a broke bunk this weekend. I patched it with a 2x4. What’s the best method for replacing? I see you took the whole mount off the trailer. I was wondering if it was easier to just take off 1 bolt that provides the swivel?
How many screws then go into the board? How long? Stainless or those funky coated deck screws that you use for treated boards?
Tks!
What size boat do you have? And do you ha e a picture of it on the stands? I would like to put mine on stands to repair bunks and clean up the hull.No i have 4 boat stands
Update got the new bunks done and installed. But after taking the boat out this weekend and making sure the boat was perfectly centered on the trailer i found out my one bunk wasn't even touching the boat. Neutron can you happen to snap a picture of how you bunks are bolted up or spaced. Im hoping i just accidentally moved the spacing...Its kind of hard to explain where to put them . I would search YouTube for boat removal with stands to show how it is done.
