That’s exactly what I said in my head, but I was thinking about keeping that much black paint clean/looking good !!! He is a braver man than I.
Black looks amazing when clean. Not so much when, well not clean.

I think that truck needs some trim to break it up though. Too much black on black on black on black. Just looks like a big black rectangle. Needs a touch of chrome or satin brushed stainless or something to break it up a bit.

Some matte grey or silver 20"+ wheels would look really sweet.

Love the look of the new Tahoe/Burban/Yukons.
How does it ride? They have 4 wheel independent suspension now, right? Curious how body roll is loaded/unloaded.

Payload is 1970 towing 12,750 I also put air lift with compressor on the back for pulling my dump trailer. Will be putting some company logos and red tow hooks to add some color soon. I don’t like chrome on my trucks ? black is not as bad as people think to keep clean. Trick is to use a good wax and resin coat when new and only hand wash or use no touch car wash. Then you wont get all the swirl marks. This is my second black truck. You know what they say about going black .... I almost bought a gray truck but momma wanted black to match the new boat.. can’t wait to get her out if storage.

1970 is way higher than i thought...my dad's 2019 ram 1500 4x4 cc sb 5.7v8 5'-7" bed laramie 7100 gvwr, is like 1400.

there are lots of variables, but my last truck was a 2015 ram 1500 4x4 cc 5.7v8 5'-7" bed laramie 6900 gvwr, but it weighed 5670, so payload was 1230. then i put a +/-200lb leer topper on it....fill it up +/-150...throw me and family in +/-600.....
truck was fabulous and towed great, but i was def overweight heading to lake with the boat. wife's jeep grand cherokee had more payload.
my new ram 2500 4x4 cc sb 6.7dsl laramie 10000 gvwr, only has 2102 payload.

ram lets you enter your vin to get an 'as built' (accounting for options) payload and max towing number.

1970 is impressive as a payload on a CC SB fullsize pickup. My '15 Sierra only has 1,530 available. That extra 400lbs would be nice to throw a slide in camper in the back there.

It seem like the numbers keep climbing each year. Truck manufacturers are at war to have the biggest numbers. Tow, HP, torque, gas mileage. My gas mileage numbers were a lie. Hope they weren’t lying about the rest ..hahah in rams defense I have a heavy foot.

No issues towing the 2.5 hours home, at speeds up to 65. With the 10-speed transmission you may have to get used to expecting downshifts on any incline, but it felt capable of maintaining the set cruise speed and settled into 10th gear on flats at highway speed. I could see how adding towing mirrors might make keeping an eye on things a bit easier. Very happy with the experience overall, and this is the heaviest thing I’ve towed. MPGs dropped by around 6 from the trip out to pick up and the trip back with the boat.

I’ll have to let you know how the boat handles when I get in on the water for the first time, hopefully within a couple weeks ??

It’s not that hard. I wash it like three times a week

Chrome is play out. That was the 90’s early 2000.

It rides great. I had a 2017 before this one. I like this one way better. I haven’t tow with it yet, my boat is at the Marina, I will be trailing it this summer. I will be taking it up to Chicago from Georgia.
