Too hot and too many bugs to spend the night at Shell Island.

I liked Bayou Joe's!We made it down for Monday's fireworks. Put in at City marina (dang, that ramp is tight with the drop off at the end!!) and ate at Bayou Joes. Food was awesome, and well priced! Then crossed the bay to get into the lagoon for the fireworks!
We got back to tx Sat and had a great time exploring the area with my family. We did crab island, shell island, cape san blas, and st andrew sound. Even the springs there was a nice change up to boating days. View attachment 61266 View attachment 61263 View attachment 61264 View attachment 61265
I miss living there so much:-(I already miss the beach dammit! I am not ready to get back to reality.
Are you in the AF? I am retired from the Navy. Let me know if you come back we can go have a drink and solve the problems of the world.I miss living there so much:-(
I only lived there for 2 years, had the boat for 1.5 of that. Pretty much lived straight across the bay from where everyone anchors on the bay side of Shell Island, on Tyndall AFB.
I retired two and a half years ago while I was at Tyndall. I've been wanting to make a trip back with the boat ever since we moved. My wife is still active AF, that's why we moved away from there so quickly....I was hoping to get at least a couple more years there! Are you in the AF? I am retired from the Navy. Let me know if you come back we can go have a drink and solve the problems of the world.
