I recently got starlink mini with roam plan, works great in my motorhome so far. it now include in-motion (up to 100mph) and coastal coverage . Any one tried it while boating near coast? Unfortunately for me, I was relocated for work in NC about 100 mile in land so i couldnt test it while boating off shore lol. Im still busy settling in my new work location, maybe i'll test in the lake soon but thats probably the same as using it in a motorhome i would think.

I picked the mini cause I can carry it backpacking or use in my jeep while trail riding.

Set up a mini on the catamaran, works good. We will see how quickly we use 50 gigabytes every month. Just set up on deck until I pole mount it.

@zipper 50 gig goes FAST if you stream any shows at all. Or if jackasses like me post huge pictures that you're downloading when you check the forum every morning for shenanigans. We turn ours on for months that are campground intensive, and use the unlimited plan. Otherwise, it's off.

hey @fatboyroy have you tried running it while you're moving in the motorhome? I know the mini isn't as powerful as the full-sized unit...do you get a good signal through the windshield or some other way? Once we're in a campground and find a clear shot to the north, the mini is great. Have not tried it underway yet.

The plan is to use it away from the marina wifi. And away from cellular hot spots while overnight on the Lake. Streaming movies will be monitored.
