It seems as if both batteries were low enough that it wouldn't turn over. Once I got to land and cleared out the jet pump I had forgot to give batteries a full charge. I'm guessing that caused the communication error as their was no juice to turn engine over. Once full charged, thankfully turned over and operable :)
