Hey All, I have a 2019 AR195 and ran a little shallower in sand than I should have. I thought when I got the boat unstuck I would be able to start the engine and blow out whatever sand remained. Much to my chagrin I could sense alot of resistance to the starter when I turned the key but the engine started, however the boat would not move. I got it towed back to the dock and when I dug into it I found the threads on the aluminum driveshaft coupler had been stripped out.

Since I do have the jet assembly apart I'm thinking its an opportune time to install a housing with a plastic wear ring as the OE ring I installed a couple years ago got grooved with sand. I have a Solas stainless impeller that appears to have been spared but I cannot definitively determine what housing I need to order. I emailed SBT but they did not reply.
Would any of you in the know be able to provide a part number for the 2019 jet housing for the SVHO, Im guessing it may be the same as the Waverunner but dont want to risk it.

TIA!

I wouldn't go with plastic, personally. Contact Leading Edge Impellers and replace your wear ring with a new stainless and move on.

As another point of unsolicited advice, don't ever attempt to "blow out" sand from your impeller, as your motor cooling is depended on the pump pushing water into the oil cooler, exhaust, and through your block. If there's sand in the water, there will be sand in all of those places.

Your better option would be to get the boat floating again and hand scoop out as much sand as possible. Maybe even get a tow for a hundred yards and keep the reverse bucket open to slowly push it out.

The threads on the aluminum drive shaft coupler were stripped? Pictures please.

Your engine is probably full of sand.. pull the cooling water strainer on the side of the jet pump and see if it is also full of sand. You have a much bigger job ahead of you removing that sand out of the engine. If its really impacted in there you will need to remove the head, exhaust manifold etc..

I’ll second @anmut advice and just stick the the stainless steel wear ring. How do you know you need a new wear ring? If its got a couple of shallow grooves in it that shouldn’t be a problem, its the gap between the impeller and the wear ring that is important, .014” to 0177”.
