My amp didn’t come on time but we managed to get a majority of the wiring done. I installed a second connector on the factory plug so I can quickly switch back to stock if I need to.
All wires have been loomed and zip tied, and cleaned up inside the helm. Everything looks factory (if not better)
LEDs are wired into the cockpit light switch. I also managed to run power and ground for the amplifier. 17ft was just enough to make it.
I will get some more pics of the wiring cleaned up.
Has anyone put the woofer in on the starboard side of the boat facing the port side? Like next to the captains chair? I think facing towards the helm in the storage compartment is too curved.

Yes, that is where I put mine (though in an AR240). Only downside is that you can bump it if putting things in the compartment under the seat. I considered facing forward, but also concluded it was too messy given the curve (would have had to do a custom ring--doable, but where I put it works fine).
Alright so got the amplifier installed, was a breeze as expected. I unexpectedly needed an amp baffle so used some spare mdf I had. Will probably switch to birch and carpet it later.
These Kicker amps are pretty sweet, the gain knob lights up when you begin to clip. The speakers get pretty darn loud and only have four so far.
I wanted to get the subwoofer in but had to help some friends with other things. Helped my buddy change the oil in his skis which took forever.

I appreciate the reply, however I was thinking right under the throttle/cup holder area. I didn't get a chance to measure depth yesterday. Everything around the storage compartment seems too curved.

Well the JLs I want are on back order, so that will be another month or so. Looks like it will be too windy to go out this Sunday, so will try to get the subwoofer in. Based on @Mainah post, it sounds like the port side is the way to go. While I am there, I may try to figure out a way to make the bench seat removable. It really bothers me it is not. It would be great to remove and the dogs could lay there when we don't need the extra seating.
I got the subwoofer in, and the day after they told me the 6.5s were on back order, they came in, so I have those on hand now.
The subwoofer install was fairly easy. A dremel with circle jig and carbide tip, made it a breeze. I ended up getting some PVC board to use a rear baffle for the woofer.
The system sounds phenomenal on the boat and under way. I think it is a bit lacking when getting away from the boat in the water, but the rear deck 7.7s should fix that issue. I also had people on the boat while hanging out so didn't want to crank it. I also haven't had a chance to properly tune everything. Once the third set of 650s go in, I will work on that.

Looks great! Can you remind us - is the the jl 10mib5 subwoofer? I know you said it already, but this thread is getting long and I'm loosing track, lol.
How did you stick that rear baffle behind the opening? mounted with screws or through bolted?
Do you worry about cracking gelcoat back there on the other hull skin, lol?
So - basically - jl 10mib5 is the way to go, right? I'm leaning towards that very strongly. I may still try that w/small sealed enclosure per @Drift Away and @Benny Sibbitt procedure. I know they like their bass so I take their recommendations very seriously. It may not be the most "pretty"way to go about it, certainly unorthodox, but hey - it's a boat and it might work best for the overall efficiency.
I though I had enough bass with my lowly Basslink infinity, until I found out many of my guests really like Southern rap and hip hop!!! (yes, I only let them chose their music when there are no kids on the boat).
Yes, this is the M10IB5. I do have my concerns about such a thin piece of fiberglass holding the sub, so the baffle is just a bit of reinforcement to keep the fiberglass solid. I used stainless steel bolts/nuts/washers from Home Depot. They were 8-24 and you need at least 3" long.
As far as getting the baffle in, I predrilled the holes for the subwoofer on the baffle (a little larger than 1/8th), and then screwed the sub in. (The 8-24 screws screw in snugly with a 1/8" drill bit). I then crawled into the storage area and reached around to get the baffle on, and then put the washer and nut on. I had to do this from the battery compartment and the storage comparment. If you are a big guy, get someone smaller with long arms to do this lol.
There is more than enough bass. The only area I really find it lacking is in the very low region, I have a few test songs I use to check how well it picks up the lows (these songs are under 30hz) and it plays it but not strong at all. Of course I expected this with such a high Fs with this woofer. Overall I am VERY happy with it, and see no reason to add an enclosure. If anything, I will eventually add a second woofer down the road, mostly to increase bass when outside of the boat.
I will get a picture of it mounted from behind sometime this week.
I added feet under the speaker box so the gelcoat is not holding the weight of the box but just holding it from sliding.
With a box I dont have to turn the amp so loud to fell low end bass / its mostly 1/4 or 1/2 of power at all times
Alright, so I got a little more work done. The second battery was installed, along with my new battery switch. I also ran the speaker line for the middle 6.5 on the port side. I still need to clean up wiring some more, but this was done at home and I didn't have any zip ties. I also got a shot of the subwoofer in under the bench.
Well I went with down in the kick and it looks great. It is almost aligned with the other speaker. Another reason was that at night, the LEDs will light up around my feet, which could come in handy if I drop something.
Alright, got both middle pairs in. LEDs are wired in but speakers are not yet wired into the amp (wiring is in, just needs to be connected to the amp). So sound results will have to wait.
