Texoma Aug 15-16

If I were to turn into a big green egg, would you really complain?

We love the stuff! Can't keep the kids out of it.

Got a trailer at Buncombe for Friday and Saturday night.

Anyone interested in dinner at BG's Friday or Saturday night?

I would be on Friday night

What time do they close Jeb? I won't be off work that Friday till 5. So, it might be 8 or so by the time we could get to Kingston. I hate going to Texoma without a visit to BG's though!

Sweet! What's BG's? Y'all bringing the boy's? We'll be arriving around lunch time on Saturday.

BG's is a catfish and homemade ice cream buffet restaurant. It is really good!

They close at 9pm http://www.bgscatch.com/

Yes, Pearce on the curtain climbers. We tried to get a 1 night stay but neither Buncombe or Solider would let us.....

We must have taken over all the trailers at buncombe creek! Either that, or they have adopted the over sales feature the airlines love to use!o_O

Great! I'll tell Tyler. I know he'll be excited. I lucked into our one night stay as I told maboat.

We'd be up for anything as far as dinner for Saturday night. What's the restaurant like at Buncombe?

Buncombe I understand why. That is their policy. It says it clearly on their website. Plus, they are close to full.

Soldier Creek - different story. Called them, and it sounds like almost none of their places are currently booked. In other words, they are almost empty. Plus they made the news a while back. They tell us, no you have to stay 2 nights. Ok, fine. We will stay 2 nights at Buncombe!

Yeah, I knew you had lucked into the 1 night at Buncombe, so that is why I shared that tidbit. Tyler should have a blast....

I have never been to Buncombe ever. I am sure Dan or Jeb would know.

They make the news in a bad way? Dan said earlier in the thread that they had started to go down hill.

Pretty ridiculous to say the least.

It has been alleged, with video evidence, that they have been pumping sewage from their lagoons into the lake.

Probably had something to do with the big algae bloom at Texoma the last fee years!

Potentially, I suppose. The BGA issues were typically in secluded coves.

Rumor was that she was trying to sell Soldier and that is the reason for the poor upkeep.

I'm gonna skip BG's, but I'm sure I'll be visiting The Island Bar at Highport one or both nights :woot:

My stomach tells me not to skip BG's. But, I will just see what the group has in mind.
