Gotta run an errand...check back in a bit. Oh, are you dropping the boat before you go? If so, I guess I have to check in and launch, then come up there...

yep, Mel bring your kennel and Chester to the house and we can let him house set for Traci and I while we all have supper. No problem.

Sorry I ment to also say you will drive by our house on the way to bumcomb

It was just a suggestion. I don't know if it would even be possible or not to do for you.

I actually do it all the time. One time, I was pulling the 5th wheel. With the 5th wheel, the truck - when running - gives the 5th wheel 12 volt battery. I pulled into a rest stop and left the truck running and locked. I went back in the 5th wheel and went to sleep for the night. Now, I will tell you that night I was leary!!! I was afraid I was going to awaken to movement of someone trying to steel my truck when the 5th wheel was attached and I was sleeping inside it!

That might work Jeb, if you don't mind. I still need to dump the boat. So we may still check in and then drop by to head to bgs.

BG's sounds good. We will be on the lake. Maybe see you guys later that night.

Forgot to tell everyone, might bring bottle water. We make tea and it tastes soo much better with bottle water.

Buncombe is booked. This will be our first trip to Texoma. Anyone have others suggestions for lodging that is somewhat close?

Mill creek marina and resort is due south of the islands. The big cabins are new and nicer. The small units are old and motelish. The ramp is probably closed so you would have to launch from highport.

I have lots of contact info and other places, but away from that computer.

Mill Creek resort is on the Texas side and is very close to the islands. Judging from the rest of the conversation in the thread I'd stay away from Soldier Creek. I'm not sure about other places on the Oklahoma side. @DCB-270 would probably know of a good alternative. We stay at a Holiday Inn in Denison most of the time when at Texoma. We always launch out of Highport which is a very nice marina that is the closest to the islands and again on the Texas side. Staying at a resort on the lake is a treat for us. Looking forward to meeting y'all.

I would go with Jebs suggestion. I have never stayed there but they look nice and are just down the road.

Glad you guys are coming @BlacklimitedS ! Looking forward to meeting you.

Thanks everyone for the info. I looked at Texoma cabins. They are 2miles from Bombcombe. They looked nice online. Our last hurdle is our dog. We are checking with the kennel today. If all goes well we will be booking tonight! Looking forward to meeting everybody!

I take it the cabins don't allow dogs or y'all don't want to bring it. There's gonna be two dogs already in this bunch, our lab and txav8r's boxer.

I'v been thinking, (yes it hurts) sounds like I need to start up a dog kennel service at Bumcomb creek. seems I'v been missing out of a lot of business
Good luck with the dog BlacklimitedS Hope to see ya there. The log cabins are a 1/8 mile from my place.

Wait, here it comes...this place is really going to the dogs!

Given the dogs' lives that I am aware, that would be fine by me!
