Texoma Aug 15-16

@BravoMike - would you be interested in joining us at Texoma again?

I'm thinking of going for Saturday only but still not sure of my schedule.

If I launched at Juniper point is that close enough? I've never been to Texoma, I can't get the kids on the boat without the promise of some surfing and wakeboarding, can we do it relatively close to where the group meets ?

Absolutely you can. There is a really nice and relatively protected "channel" behind the islands. We usually head over there for water sports.

Here is a map showing what I was talking about @Scottintexas

thanks, that would work great, hopefully I'll know by the middle of next week if I'm able to go.
Scott

It would be great if you were able to make it. The Texas gang always beats the Oklahoma gang by numbers.

Up above, I was trying to recruit some of the Oklahoma gang to help out representing the best state in the Union, not to mention football team - OU. lol - just kidding - well kinda ;)

Smack away there...I would say where's your pro football team but I haven't seen ours for years now!

@Scottintexas , call the COE and see what the status of the ramp is at juniper point. It looks close, but it is a little ways from the Willis bridge to wood island and across a big channel opening called big mineral. The lake is up a little but overall it is down. So look at a chart, there is a sand bar that hugs that southern shore from juniper point to the east to big mineral. And the opening to big mineral has some exposed and barely submerged areas. Once past there, the water is safe and deep between the islands and the Texas shore. But between the islands and the Oklahoma mainland, it is shallow and may be hazardous. It will be great is you can make it!

I would love to join everyone but I have to work this weekend. Got to pay for the toys! Have a great time and be safe.

@BlacklimitedS , it is not this weekend but the following...if that makes a difference!

Would love to join the fun at Texoma. Guess this is not my summer to socialize with forum members. I am scheduled to work and then move my daughter to college for her freshman year. If it was the following weekend, I would be all in. If anyone happens to be going the weekend of the 22-23rd let me know. Thanks @farrelltravis for asking. Had not seen this post yet.

By the way...BOOMER SOONER! Football is just around the corner.

@BlacklimitedS Hopefully with the gathering happening on August 15-17, that will make a difference and you will be able to make it.

@BravoMike No problem at all. I enjoyed meeting with you last time. Good luck to your daughter!

Juniper west is open and has plenty of water, as soon as you get to the main lake you can see the islands from the 377 bridge BG's is open till 9 pm.

Jeb, I hope to be on the road by 5 Friday. That would mean I would be pulling into Kingston around 7 or so. Would you and Tracy be up for meeting at BGs around 7 on Friday evening?

sounds good Travis, we will meet ya there, text or call when ya get close to madill

Will do Jeb.

So, if anyone else wants to meet for dinner, Jeb and I will be at BG's for dinner on Friday night around 7.

We will try to meet you guys...I don't know when we will get away next Friday...will shoot for 5:30, and it is less than 1.5 hours I guess, so we should roll in around 7pm. Hmm...on second thought, we will have Chester, and he can't stay in the truck, too hot. And even though he could be in the crate at the trailer, I doubt they want a barking dog left there. He wants to go! It isn't like leaving him at home, so he may bark to get us to come back, especially if he can hear anyone outside. Not sure how to handle that. We may just have to grab something at the Anchor N'. Any ideas?

@Jebinok Any ideas on Chester for Mel?

@txav8r What about leaving the truck running for big C? I do that myself. But, I have a code on the door to get in while the truck is running with the doors locked.

? Hmm, haven't tried that and would be a little leary of it, but could consider it...just have to bring two sets of keys I guess because we don't have a code for the truck...just keys/key fobs. We can't lock the prius at all with a key inside it, it has the smart key entry system.
