I have found the power stop pads and rotors last much longer and perform better with not more of an up charge from the autozone stuff.
Agreed, I put the powerstop slotted/drilled combo on my F150, feels about the same for day to day driving, but was a noticeable improvement in performance with the boat in tow in an emergency stop situation.

I put a complete powerstop setup on my A4 awhile back. Was in college and strapped for cash and it was super cheap on Amazon. Worked REALLY REALLY well.

Got pulled over for 120 in a 55 at dusk while I was bedding them in. Might or might not have been a little aggressive with that process :D

Sometimes getting these calipers off is challenging because you can’t get any leverage on the wrench. I learned a little trick though. Instead of trying to pull and tug and push and scream, try taking a rubber hammer and tap on the wrench handle while holding the wrench in place so it doesn’t bounce around. Works great. Works for taking lugs off the wheels too. Thought about making a little YouTube video about it to help some folks out.
