Thanks Sir! Was stationed at Pendleton for eight years (89 -92 & 95 -98) and was always in Yuma (YPG) doing air drops. Love it out there! We use to hit the river as much as we could, camping at Hidden Shores. That cruise in the morning at sunrise up to Martinez is unforgettable - that dry heat is intoxicating! I'd certainly like to take you up on that offer sometime. It's awesome to see you doing so well.

Lake Martinez is great! You don't get the crowds or bling of Havasu and Parker. Most of the performance boats can't navigate that stretch of the river because of the depth. Very laid back but that stretch knows how to party on the holiday weekends. Plus you still have "Clear Lake" to do some quality cliff jumping in a hidden cove.

You went through Prototype on a SSBN but went surface?! Shoulda been a bubble head!

No kidding! I begged for subs. On my dream sheet I put fast attack out of Pearl for #1, then fast attack out of any port for #2, and trident out of any port for #3, number 4 slot was what you didn't want to be on and I put carrier. So since I was from South Carolina I think they stuck me on that surface pig as some cruel joke! It took me for ever to qualify on that Nuclear plant because of the dual reactors and engine rooms. Everything is reveresed from engine room number 1 to number 2, and you must learn both. Had I went to a sub, the plant and systems would have been the same as the Sam Rayburn almost and I would have qualified in no time. No worries though, I enjoyed it and it was a good experience. If I had gone subs I probably would have stayed in and retired though. I had a few friends that went on to OCS and then switched to subs and stayed in for life. SQUIDS!!!

Great, because I've always wanted to run this.
Bad, because I haven't been running in months due to an injury
Good, because I still have plenty of time to train
Bad, that training is going to have to be during the Texas summer!

Either way, I'm excited.

Ever since I saw the medal I've really wanted to do it. And the last two year I haven't been able to get registered!
