I think @DawgDaze lives in the Los Angeles / San Diego area @Matt Phillips so a referral may not be applicable.

I've looked at a few places in my area. The most appealing too me are the places that offer storage and valet services but damn they are expensive and watching the boat bounce on the lift's forks can be nerve racking. The other extreme are the places that offer only storage only (near the water on your trailer). Cheap (and secure) but you still have to hook up, launch and recover by yourself.

I forgot to mention that when I was looking at security systems I was surprised to find LoJack didn't offer a system for boats but dewalt did. It was a cellular subscription based system meant for heavy equipment like bull dozers and the like (that what I was told anyway) which included 24/7 remote support. Similar to some home subscription services. Again not cheap but another option at least.

My final thoughts: pay a place to give a shit about protecting it (if you won't or can't keep it at home), make it a less desirable target (with alarm systems, locking latches, etc.), think about this if someone steals your stereo you can still go boating, this is not the case if someone steals your cleanout plugs which you can make harder to get to with some relatively cheap locking latches, it cost me under $5 for the cam lock on my port side storage /closet door which protects / hides hundreds of dollars in equipment, e.g. What's a tower mirror cost these days?) and last but not least increase your insurance coverage.

Oh yes very true! I can still go boating and I have full coverage insurance so the next sound system will be outstanding!
We live about 70 miles north of San Diego and the storage out here is few and far between unless you want to spend about 250/month. The place where I am now has security but there is NO lighting or cameras where I keep my boat.
The assholes won't put lighting or cameras up because I found out they are eliminating the whole covered area where the boats are for buildings so I will be on the lookout from now until January for a new place. Right now 117/month is ok.

Just some after thoughts... I already have an outstanding sound system in the boat. I guess that's why so paranoid and when that boat goes to storage, especially when I winterized it. almost EVERYTHING comes out and gets stored in one cool dry place. From clean out plugs to tool kit. I even have the head compartment cleaned out completely. @txav8r knows what is stored in there. I have been driving through the storage twice a day before and after work cause it's right down the street and so far .... no trouble. Anyway thanks for all of the input everyone!
