Interesting design. It looks like it would only set with the flukes down and would simply drag if it flips over or lands upside down? The pull to unlock feature seems like it could become a problem in a storm or if a second boat tied to yours?
I am really happy with my 4 pound FX-7, 5 feet of 5/16” chain and an anchor buddy. It is a great lightweight combination that is easy to use, sets and holds extremely well.

We have not ever had a issue. We use no chain rode. I throw it, let the boat float back a bit pull it toward me and it's set. To retrieve I simply pull straight up, it releases the flukes and pull it up. It is kind of heavy when I pulled a tree branch like earlier. We have been using it for 3 years and never a fear of not retrieving it and it has held us in strong current and waves.
So this Bargain starts with the latest 20% off coupon for Overtons.com “GEARUP”
I was shopping a new KeelShield as mine got ripped on a cross member of our boat lift after a bunk had dropped. Needless to say, it did it’s job and only tore a chuck out in two spots. It protected the hull from any scrape.
So long story short, I wanted a new 10ft white one, and the cheapest was like $230. Overtons stocks the KeelGuard at around $204. But with 20% off, I got it shipped for $174 with free shipping and the required tax. I’m sure the Keelguard will work as well as KeelShield. From what I have heard, they both are good quality products. I hope the white color matches up. Now I get to peel the old one off. OUCH!! Although I a going to take my time and buff the entire white surface of the hull to clean it up.
The KeelShield ready to install kit still carries the best warranty of any keel protector in the business... a 100% Customer Satisfaction Guarantee to the original purchaser.
This non transferable warranty is provided to the original purchaser. KeelShield NZ will replace the damaged product for the life of the boat for the original purchaser. Our obligation under this warranty is limited to replacement of the product and we will not be responsible for labor to remove or replace any KeelShield brand keel protector for any reason. Proof of purchase (copy of receipt) and a picture showing the warranty problem must be produced in order to make a claim.
Yes they do, to the original owner with proof of purchase from an authorized KeelShield dealer. Believe me, at over $230, I looked into it. I was hoping there was a chance.
Last year somewhere around this time or Black Friday amazon had a sale on the inflatable 6’ x 10’ mats... forgot the name. But, if anyone sees that come around again, please post it. I need another one.
Looked it up: Airhead Gangplank. I got mine for $57 and it is now $140 I think.
Agreed!!! I have an ammo can ish size of one of these. Its my splash box for the bimini or any ocean adventure. Grab and hit the drink ! It’ll take care of ya! And if checked by wildlife or coast guard its the box of legal needs as well. Fits right behind the pilot seat
Not mine, but what looks like a good deal on an AR230 out of Longview, TX area. The guy keeps lowering the price every couple of days. It's down to $8500 now.

That is the first generation AR230. The owner states she is a 2004. Definitely 2006 or earlier but I am uncertain if AR230s existed in 2014. Certainly an early boat. The engines look quite dirty. The price is a little more than half of what I would expect.

If this boat runs... and most systems work, including the ballast system that looks to have several pumps... That is an absolute STEAL at that price. No doubt. It is not the SR early, but hard to tell, the engine covers confuse me...
