I just smeared some clear silicon behind it and in the screw holes. Screwed it’s down and wiped off the residue. Don’t tighten the screws down too tight, they will pull through the black plastic of the plug.

Replaced old stock head unit with a Fusion. Apparently the DIN size is not the same. So had to create a new plate out of starboard ( going to clean up and color match but haven’t yet as ran out of time today) only color west marine had was white so I’ll have to fix later.
I used the Fusion branded adapter plate. Got it at Crutchfield for around $30. It comes with a larger gasket for the plate as well as new corner shaped screw covers for the HU and adapter (mine are not yet installed).

Now that I am done I can see some of our mistakes I our first attempt at wet sanding... but if u back up abou 2 feet the 12 year old boat almost looks flawless!
