In the meantime, we have (somewhat reluctantly) snatched one of the last big LC ones here (in the US), still a good ol "monotrim" monster. Aside from its rather stodgy styling it is a very impressive vehicle... so far.

I am so jealous. The current LC is a tremendous vehicle and pretty great at doing everything except being frugal. If you take half way decent care of it you will still have a vehicle that drives “as new” with 200k plus miles.

1B3ACC64-15FE-46AE-B8FA-7228DC311D72.jpeg F150 fx2 5.0 towed it from Indianapolis to St.Louis. Barely knew it was back there. Wish I would have paid more attention to gas mileage.

You got that right! Cruised back on the interstate last night at 82 to 83mph and never even came out of 8th gear. I don't understand at all why they tow so damn good. Thx @swatski

Towing at 80+ isn't my cup of tea but I'm not one to preach.

This one is easy......German tow ratings come from the engineering department, American tow ratings come from the marketing department.

Finally got a better updated pic yesterdayView attachment 77842 . 2017 Audi SQ5.
Nice! I lobbied for an SQ5 when we traded in our Q5 in the spring - ultimately the Q7 won out for the 3rd row and cargo space. Tows nice though!

Now I’m hoping to get my S when it’s time to replace my A3 in a couple years...

I tow my 195 with a 2017 Sante Fe. 5000lb towing limit. It does great no power issues at all.

Also towing w/a Santa Fe; and been great so far... The 21’ is definitely as big as I’d go though as it knows it’s back there on longer hauls...

I pulled my 190 with a RAV4 and an Odyssey. The RAV4 was not great, the Odyssey was better. The F150 raises the bar, a much better fit.

You guys are using some really small vehicles to tow these things. I thought our Traverse didn't have enough motor to pull the 190 and carry the people it had seatbelts for, and it's a decent V6. Chassis was OK, but just didn't have the grunt to maintain speed on hills without revving to 5-6k all the time. Lots of down shifting too.

The upgrade to the Sierra was a huge step forward in almost all regards (my checking account is still pissed at me once a month).

I’ve never felt that our suv had to overwork to pull our boat; even on our near 300 mile treck home from purchasing... But we are also lucky to be only 5 miles each way to our primary ramp/lake and 12 miles to our other lake. So the AWD Santa Fe barely gets warmed up. If anything the suspension is a little soft, but it’s always had plenty of motor. On the haul home from KY I had it in manual shift mode to fully control up shifts/down shifts which made all the difference in staying in the sweet spot of rev range vs hills... It’s more technique I feel in this weight class; but certainly wouldn’t rule out going to a full size-mid size truck next with better tow capabilities or even a Q7tdi in the future... Again our circumstances allowed us to comfortably get by with this size vehicle without overwhelming its tow aspects due to our close proximity to our waterways... Surprisingly we average 15-20mpg while towing too due to the flat terrain in our area... The lowest we saw on the long tow was 12-13mpg through the hills of KY... back to Nashville. But to have a 3rd row suv that averages 20-25mpg otherwise when not on tow duty vs a full size truck in the 10-15mpg range certainly doesn’t hurt my feelings or wallet at the end of the day and the fact it’s paid for... But to each their own as everyone’s situation is certainly different...

Just signed the papers on a 2019 RAM 1500 crew cab. I don't have to tow that much but this will handle the 190 no problem. I plan on having this truck longer than the boat so I should be covered when we upgrade to a 21 ft eventually.

2014 Suburban LTZ with 5.3, and the 6 speed.
Had 3.08 gear. Put in a 3.73. First gear is super low now and sixth gear is still good for cruising. 2,000 rpm at 73 mph.

Did the dealership do the gear swap? What was the cost.
