Yamaha 2024 line up …

Just bought a 2024 AR190 here in California.
In Case anyone is interested, it looks like any California model boats will still have the 1.8. At least for 2024 models.

Really? Are you sure you have a 2024 and not a leftover 2023? Check out HIN here to make sure.

I do have a 2024 model, also verified with 2 different dealers out here that the CA models don't have the new 1.9 for now. Unfortunately

That's crazy, why would the CA model be a 1.8 that is less efficient than a 1.9?

Tracy Motorsports has this listed on their site. It shows a 1.9L.

That one is Tracy is one of the ones I looked at. I drove from Sacramento. It has the 1.8

I was wondering the same thing it seems like the new one would be more efficient??

The only thing I can think of is that possibly the new 1.9L is not yet "certified" by the commies in CA. That's some BS if you ask me.

I agree. I just recently moved to CA, they suck the fun out of everything. I originally wanted a 195 until I found out you can't get those here either, so I settled for a 190. Love the boat. Wouldn't mind some more power

I would also imagine that 2025's or 2026 model years in CA will get the 1.9 eventually

continuing to allow the 1.8 with it's outrageously heavy plastic engine covers to remain and continue polluting when the new, more efficient engine has vegan, super ultra light, low voc engine covers....is just total bs

The 190 and 195 will still have the 1.8 nation wide. 222 and up have dual 1.9's.

I apologize I was wrong. The 190's are getting the 1.9's and the 195's are keeping the 1.8's.

for 2024 only, the 2025 195 will be the 1.9 SC

Now if there was only a 225s option. then I would probably upgrade. I would also have to add a Garmin as the 222s doesn't came with the 12" screen. Maybe for the 20225 models.

The twin 1.9's are fantastic on the 22'

Still scratching my head as to why the 252XE doesn’t come with the automatic WakeBooster’s. Come on! I want all the features without having the gas hog motors that need premium. In regards to the tower, I wouldn’t be opposed to a hard top option as the towers on the 255’s don’t fold that much anyways. A wish list item would be to get rid of the floating screen as well, I really don’t understand this design.

I went and looked at that exact boat.... It has the 1.8. They have 2 other red ones on their lot that also have the 1.8

I realize this is an old post, but for what it's worth, you are correct. We just purchased a 2024 AR190 from Tracy Motorsports and it indeed has the 1.8. I could not figure out why until I started doing some research. The Yamaha brochure I have states "This brochure includes California models only" - and has the engine specs that clarify the SX190 and AR190 both have the 1.8 liter high output engine. CA strikes again! At least I got a screaming deal on it, so having less hp is not as difficult to accept. :)

I don’t know about the boats but a few weeks ago a guy down the street brought home two new Waverunners with the 1.9L engines. I think it comes back down to certification. It’s the same reason you can’t by a supercharged Yamaha boat new in CA even though Waverunners with the same engine are for sale here new.

if you buy a Yamaha 190 new here in CA chances are it has the CA motor which means it has a catalytic converter and therefore puts out less kw/hp than it’s non CA variant.
