Yamaha surf wake wedge reveal!!! Warning pic heavy

I don't recall ever seeing confirmation that there is a wedge for the 2006 230sx HO. I saw an assumption that the hull is the same as an '07 and that testing was presumed final, but never a confirmation.

I'm ready to order this year if the wedge is ready for my '06.

Did you guys ever manage to fix the issue with 2014 212X and it binding some? I can't seem to find the thread where it was mentioned. Or maybe I'm just going crazy lol, want to pick on up before spring time for sure!

@Master-Spud that was discovered while testing on my boat. it was hitting the thrust vectors xl's...although we did surf all day with a slight binding, mark and jerry promise a fix by spring! if you don't have the fins you should be fine

Where are you located?

I do have the same fins now, just haven't installed them yet. Do waiting for the fix as well

I have the thrust vectors on my boat now so I can look at them more in depth. I hope to have something soon, just been kind of cold for me to go outside and ponder for a couple of hours. I will get on it though, I know our newer 212x version is our best seller right now!!!

I am ready to order for my 2013 212X!! Please keep me posted on the progress. This thing look sick man, great design. Mark me down for one as soon as they are ready!

I was wondering, for those of us that prefer to leave it mounted couldn't you have another hole drilled in the bar where it goes through the bracket? That way when you are done surfing you could just pull the pin, roll it up and re-pin it?

The Wedges are ready to go. We have 28 units avaliable right now. As far as the 212x and leaving it on, as long as you do not have fins installed, you can run it all day long without hurting anything. It will have to come off on the trailer though. If you have fins I would recommend taking off for non surf use.

I did not realize you would run with the wedge that far down so it would touch the fins. That's almost 45 degree angle right? I guess I'm still worried about how much stress that would put on the ladder bracket side to have that wedge almost vertical into the water.

I have the 242LS (2013), anyone with my model boat using this wedge? I really want to get it set up for some good wake surfing before the summer hits!

No, the wedge itself is only at a 5 or 10 degree angle from the swim deck. The Thrust Vectors flip up and with the shorter swim deck the fins hit ONLY with the newer hull 212X. Actually putting the wedge that far down in the water will hurt the wave and not create what we are after.

@rocknracing was the test boat. He can vouch that the angle in the water and the pressure on the ladder is far less then what we exert when climbing onboard.

Thanks for the response. That makes me feel better about it! I guess with ballast the 5 to 10 degree angle on the wedge would be more in the water and more effective with shaping the wave.

We have gotten into the habit of starting off wakesurfing from the transom. How far out does the wedge stick out past the transom? Would that make it harder to start like that? Looking at the photos the wedge looks to be about 1.5' hanging down/out. Hoping we would still be able to start off the transom if we got this and not hit it.

Thanks.

Never done a swim deck start so I do not know the answer to this question. The wedge is only 12 inches wide.

Here is a picture of it in action.

@jcyamaharider is right the wedge is only around 5-10 degree angle from the swim deck and as far as the pressure I would not be worried it barely has any pressure at all.

So it only sticks out (down) 12" ? I'm assuming that's what you meant, not wide, looks to be over 1/2 the width of the transom wide. Not worried about that, more how much it sticks out. So only abut 8 or 9" would be sticking out the back past the transom i'm guessing?

Just curious if you guys have something in the works to make it a little more ambidextrous of a device without having to re-tool it for goofy riders. I think that's the main thing that's holding me back right now is that I have a 50/50 mix of regular and goofy riders.

Something like that maybe 10" inches or so.

That was my machinist/engineering coming out, the long dimension to me is length. So yes you are correct 12 inches long (more toward the back of the boat)

There might be something in the works....... ;) but if there is it wouldn't be avaliable until late summer. Got testing and prototyping to do.

@sysinu , and whoever else wants to chime in, What if there was only 8 bolts to change over? Would that be a deal breaker? I am thinking I can make this work but my adjustment/stabilizer is what is making it 100% not working. IF you guys/gals are willing to change the 2 angle brackets from side to side I think I have something. Probably take 5-8 minutes to change.

I could supply allen wrench and nut driver to keep with the Wake Wedge. Do realize that cost may go up because of supplying 2 brackets now.

I am also wanting an easier switch from goofy to regular, but may go for the 8 bolt change over
