Anybody know what size the square drive bolt/screw is that holds the gas tank cover down? it looks a tad smaller than 1/4" so i will have to purchase a drive that fits this.
@Bob Lentz The Bit you need is a #4 square bit. Set the bit with a small hammer into the bolt head and take your time getting them out. Yamaha used a thread sealer that does not like to move. Do not use an impact wrench. I used a 3/8" socket, and worked them like I was cutting threads. Back them off a little and then tighten back up, back them off a little more, tighten etc. Setting the bit helps the longevity of the bit and the integrity of the bolt head. All of mine came out without breaking or stripping the bolt or bit. cleaned off the thread sealer and reused all bolts. Good Luck.
