What is everyone planning for Memorial Day Weekend?

The boat is hooked up to the truck waiting. I get off at 12 and hopefully I can get home and on the road by 12:30. My wife and kids headed down to the beach this morning. We won't have the boat in the water until tomorrow morning though.

I am jealous of any boat plans. While we are going to a beach house, it is without the boat and at least a 5 hour drive +/- with traffic. My boat will sit at home and my dog is in a kennel.... I will make the best of it and fortunately I have been out on the boat 7 times so far (who is counting). I am looking forward to the weekend after Memorial Day

Be safe

Hopefully boating but I'm on standby to chopper into Miami and remove a yacht from possible civil unrest.

The start of the BEST HOLIDAY WEEKEND ever !
A day with some of our Best Buds, ON the water, swimming, telling lies, laughing, and enjoying all that is in front of us.
Yoooooooooooo Babeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee !
Wishing YOU the VERY BEST - Whatever your plans may be !@

Just got the boat into my slip ahead of the holiday crush. headed out for breakfast before we hit the lake for some fun.

My plans were completely shot. A friend just bought a 242 SS. I have to take him out and teach him how to handle a jet boat (This is his first boat). So my boat is at home... again. At least I'll be on the water. :S

@smthng Let me know where you guys are. Ill meet you on the water!

@smthng , 242SS? Do you mean 212SS or 242LS?

Sounds interesting! Have more details?
It's really not interesting unless something crazy happens. For years Miami Beach holds a music festival that drums up shootings and violence from parties and rival communities. With the recent unrest in Baltimore, Miami officials are on alert because the usual police control could spark some copy cat violence/protest. Hope not.....I don't need the worry. If necessary we will fly in like Seal Team 6 and remove said assets from the situation.

@jcyamaharider Thanks Julian. Only Q I have is for those who leave their boats in the water overnite, is there any issue leaving the bilge pump on? I will be running the boat all weekend and I do have my new fangled mini jump start pack, just not wanting to do something that leads to me having to use it.

Yes, If the boat is in the water then you should have the bilge on. Won't kick on unless there is water in the bilge, so it won't hurt your battery just leaving the switch on.

Went deep sea fishing today on a buddy's center console boat. Brought in some Red Snapper. THAT'S what's for dinner.

Then Monday we will be out most of the day on the Yamaha just relaxing and taking advantage of the holiday. Most importantly we will be Remembering the whole reason for the holiday........

Beautiful day full of productive driveway boating Saturday. 75F, sunny, light breeze.
Sunday (today) rainy, cold, crappy weather. Zero driveway boating so far. Bummed.

Got Mom's cottage fired up for Summer yesterday and today. Only leak was a bad gasket on the faucet aerator - and that's easy to fix.

Blowing the lines out with air in the Fall works wonders... ;)

Sorry I didn't get back to you... it was already a full day without introducing new people and meetups into the equation.

I don't really know what I meant at the time, but it ended up being an SX240. Nice boat, but it re-affirmed my happiness with my used 212X purchase. The multispeed no-wake mode is really the only feature on his boat that I'd really like to retrofit onto mine, but I doubt it'd be worth the effort if it's even possible. Other than that, I'm happy that I spent half what he did. :)

Cons: I understand the "articulating keel" and it did make it easier for him to learn to dock fairly reliably, but I don't like it. I'm a lobster again (sigh). He doesn't have a tower, so I couldn't mount my GoPro. :(
Pros: I got to drive someone else's new boat all day. I didn't have to clean it or cover it when done. I got a free lunch and got to drink someone else's frosty beverages. :)

I'm calling that a weekend of success!

Yesterday: 66 degrees, 11 inches of rain, massive flooding. Could have boated in the front yard on account of how much water was there. Really. Local town of Wimberly practically wiped off the map due to massive flash flooding.

Today: 78 degrees, blue skies, boat stuck in the back yard because it's too muddy to retrieve it. That's OK, because the lake only rose 10+ feet today into flood pool and is probably chalk full o' floating crap.

Tomorrow: another 4-8 inches of rain. Might need the boat to convert into an ark!

Hope the rest of you non-texans are having a great weekend out on the water. We'll get there eventually.

I am with @JetPowered, @txav8r and the rest of Texas praying for less rain... for a change.
