JetBoaters.net Bimini Fling July 10th to 15th 2017

[USERGROUP=14]@Bimini[/USERGROUP] all who where on last years trip please keep an eye on your credit cards you used last year for some reason I was just refunded $300 from Bimini Sands and I have no clue why as the last time I did anything with them was in 2016.

@robert843, Bimini Sands Inc. (Bahamas Corporation) is supposed to be refunding any unused deposits from last year. Rentals At Bimini Sands Inc. is the new booking agent which I believe to be a US corporation has taken over bookings of condos and will be handling the marina in coming months.

Hopefully this means that all of the JetBoaters who have deposits left over from last year will have refunds soon.

I'm beginning to think that Stephanie doesn't like me... I resent the updated doc and even included the copy of my CC that they requested. Just patiently waiting, dreaming of rum drinks at the dock. :angelic:
I'll ask her if she can send a confirmation email. They have not done this in the past for me... but Stephanie might.

No confirmation email is fine with me. But she will not stop me from dreaming of rum drinks. :meh:

Welcome Aboard @shaun lawson. Did you see the Bimini Sands condo reservation instructions in the second post of this thread? They are filling up quickly so please get your reservation in.

For anyone looking for handheld VHF radios Amazon has a sale on the Uniden Atlantis 150 for $48. Used ones are available for $40 on EBay. My family has a pair of the similar but discontinued MHS-50 radios which have made it to Bimini and back three times. These small 2.5 watt radios are not primary radios to use on your boat for the crossing but are great for communication on shore. We clip them to our backpacks when walking around Bimini and leave them on in the charger in the condo. They come with a caribener and have a nice loop for it at the top of the radio. For the crossing I clip one to each of my crew.

I have found that I need to replace the rechargeable battery packs for each trip but they are less than $5 per pack on Amazon or EBay.

If you add another item or buy two radios you can use the $8.63 off $50 code "BIGTHANKS" that @Ramblin Wreck posted in another thread.

@fromrio, I fixed the link. Guess my subconscious was taking control.

I took some time today to add everyone who has listed their unit # to the property map. Now we can all see who our neighbors are. :winkingthumbsup"

I'll be happy to keep the map updated as we add more groups.

Just brushing up on my Microsoft Word skills. ;) "Proficiency with Office products" is in my job description.

Also, Omar from 2015 is joining us.
He said he has booked already.

Please ask Omar to tell Bimini Sands he is part of our group so he can get the discount.

For anyone needing flares, I walked into my local Walmart today and saw that they had this $80 Orion Inland Signaling Kit on closeout for $30. It has everything you need to be legal for visual and audible distress signals in a nice floating storage bag. I do not see it listed on Walmart's website and it is not particularly shippable so it would be a matter of luck to find one near you.
