Do they really want a copy of front/back of a credit card and the CC info on the registration form ?

Having a copy of credit card:
As far as Bahia Mar is concerned; it gives the a false sense of security. Given MrMoose is making arrangements, this is completely useless. I think that this is their start form that they use for the random guy visiting from Greece or something.
As far as issuer ( our bank) is concerned having a having a copy of carries no bearing to their decision to reimburse the merchant in case of fraud or not. The picture of a CC has no more info than CC#, Date, CID.
As far as plastic holder (we) is concerned a copy of the credit card provides no additional information to a fraudster than what is on the from already. Having a photocopy of the credit as the info on the magnetic strip is not visible on a credit card. So a fraudster will have to request authorization as CNP (card not present) instead of swiped.

If you sent the form, sending a copy of the card will not increase your fraud exposure. You could call in your issuer, but that is a whole a lot of pain for you and the merchant.

PS. Sending a copy of your driver license is whole different thing because of DOB and DR#. Depending on the situation I would consider calling in in my DR/SSN was involved

did not send CC picture

Here's an updated form for the Bahia Mar Marina reservation. The rate is confirmed at $1.25/foot with no minimum. So a 24 foot boat will cost $30 plus tax.
Please print it, fill it out, circle your arrival date, and send it or fax it to Stephanie Fot at Bahia Mar Marina:
SFot@rcibahiamar.com
Tel: (954) 627-6309 Fax: (954) 627-6356

Other related notes from Stephanie:
1. As for trailers it is $10/axle/day while the vessel is here, if the vessel departs and the trailer remains it is $50/day.
2. Jet skis are $25 per night and they must share a slip with another vessel.

Having CC info on the reg form AND sending a photo copy of it seemed redundant to me.

BUT maybe thats for when you check in, ie same card that was used for reserving slip they need a copy as well... I DUNNO

It is the same as 2015 and 2016

Been swamped at work....not sure if I missed something here! I've booked Bimini Sands....not booked the hotel or slip in FT Lauderdale....I see a form for BahiaMar....so fill that out...then waiting for Bruce for the Hotel?

I did not send a copy of the credit card. I read that as they needed it when we checked in. Should I send one? Also, if we already sent in the old form, should we send in a copy of the updated form?

I asked Stephanie to delete/shred the my old reservation form, and I will be sending her a new one. Last year, and the year before, I followed the instructions on the form, and as such provided the scan for the credit card. I believe that it's required in case of no-shows, so that they can charge for 1 night in your absence.

@MrMoose completed negotiations with Bahia Mar Yachting Center for slips but I believe the be waiting on an updated reservations form.

I have agreed upon a rate of $109 for partial ocean view rooms with the hotel but paperwork will be delayed until at least Monday on that.

There is urgency to get bookings
in at Bimini Sands as the 40 or so condos in their rental pool are almost full.

There is no urgency to book Bahia Mar.

So a jetski is an additional $25 to the bboat it shares a slip with, is that correct?

I removed the downlevel doc and posted the new and improved reservation form. We're good to go for Bahia Mar Marina reservations. @Julian @Bruce

For some reason i wasn't getting alerts to this thread anymore!
Posting up where/how to reserve bahia mar next i assume?

I'm beginning to think that Stephanie doesn't like me... I resent the updated doc and even included the copy of my CC that they requested. Just patiently waiting, dreaming of rum drinks at the dock. :angelic:
