Do they really want a copy of front/back of a credit card and the CC info on the registration form ?
Having a copy of credit card:
As far as Bahia Mar is concerned; it gives the a false sense of security. Given MrMoose is making arrangements, this is completely useless. I think that this is their start form that they use for the random guy visiting from Greece or something.
As far as issuer ( our bank) is concerned having a having a copy of carries no bearing to their decision to reimburse the merchant in case of fraud or not. The picture of a CC has no more info than CC#, Date, CID.
As far as plastic holder (we) is concerned a copy of the credit card provides no additional information to a fraudster than what is on the from already. Having a photocopy of the credit as the info on the magnetic strip is not visible on a credit card. So a fraudster will have to request authorization as CNP (card not present) instead of swiped.
If you sent the form, sending a copy of the card will not increase your fraud exposure. You could call in your issuer, but that is a whole a lot of pain for you and the merchant.
PS. Sending a copy of your driver license is whole different thing because of DOB and DR#. Depending on the situation I would consider calling in in my DR/SSN was involved
