Friends,

Can anyone provide me (or to the group) what the exact measurement is of the Bimini Stainless Steel Safety Pull Pins? The lanyards have rusted and the previous pins have fell off. I need to know what the exact measurement is and if its in metric or inches. Right now I'm using a screw and nut to hold the bimini up. Any suggestion or assistance is greatly appreciated.

@andy07sx230ho, those quick releases are awesome. I am adding them to my planned mods list!

Did the screw holes from the "pin"plate line up with the new quick release? If they did....I'm placing my order today!!!

@Bruce, if you go to the quick release you will need to add a clip to hold the rear pole when not in use, something similar to pictured below. A Yamaha part number for those clips is F0R-U781B-00-00

@Julian, I used the factory front hole but the aft hole spread isn't enough, so I had to drill a new hole for the quick release. I did fill the factory aft hole before final install of the quick release.

@Matt M welcome to the club, update your profile with your location so we know where your at,

I believe this might be what your looking for but I don't know about your exact boat,

Mine broke two years ago and I've been using a piece of twisted 12ga wire to hold in place, last night I broke one of my Bimini support joints so this is going to get fixed this year!

The only drawback I can see with this appoach on my model year is we have two sets of legs (one short for storage) and one long for when they are up, so I'll need to buy an extra set of "feet" and the short legs won't be pinned in when underway (which shouldn't be an issue), but WILL eliminate an issue that drives me BONKERS....which is when the pin isn't put in the short legs and it clangs against the post constantly.....

@andy07sx230ho Did the plate cover up the rear hole?

Yes the quick release base covers the rear hole.

Great find as I've struggled with this also. Just ordered mine.

Thanks,

What is everyone planning to do about the clips Andy suggested were needed?

I am thinking about trying a velcro cable tie wrapped around one pole that would wrap around both when they are stored.
