I love @OUT ON THE REEF's videos, absolutely love them. Regarding the latest discussion about to deep fry or not. Y'all are discussing the culinary aspect of it all. I use my grill every time that I'm out on my boat with my family, and one thing that I'll never do is attempt to deep fry on my boat. Boiling oil over a gas flame on a rocking boat is not for me. The deep frying part in the video scared the hell out of me.

Question...if the drive is more than a day or two where do you check in for the night ? Just sleep in the truck on highway rest areas ?

I do a Lot of overnight runs on my vacations. I have scared myself driving tired beforeso my rule is when i am tired we pull over. It doesn't matter where really at all. I don't wait for a hotel. I get the next exit or rest stop and take an hour. I have slept in parking lots of dennys, burger king, a daycare, a law firm, a furniture store etc. Important thing is to get myself off the road. I sleep till i wake up, no alarms. And then i reassess where i am and check my "load" whether it be boat camper or whatever.
I will say camping is easier because when we pull over we can all crash in our own beds and not just tge truck seat. Still trying to justify the big diesel so i can pull tandom because i would do that like all summer long

Makes sense. I decided to fly in my family to Ft Lauderdale while I take a couple of of days to haul the boat there. Gives me the freedom to sleep wherever And whenever I need to.

Just to let everyone know I believe Bimini Sands has around a dozen condos available. All of the ocean view units are full.

@Amar Nanduri Not sure exactly where at on Chantilly you are, but you're roughly 7.5-8 hrs from a Best Western Point South @ exit 33 off I-95 in Ridgeland, SC. They have great truck parking, good rates, & Dennys restaurant in lobby. I park a 80 ft car hauler there a lot.

From there, you're 7-7.5 hrs from Harbour Towne Marina. Of course those are estimated times from Google maps, @ roughly the half way point, 500-550 miles both days isn't bad.

I parked there too last year on my way back to VA from FL. The Best Western Point South (3536 Point S Dr, Yemassee, SC 29945) truck parking area is well lit night and secure.

There is another option is to stay in a campground. For less than $30 you can stay with boat and have some camping fun with the family. We camp at this place before New Green Acres RV Park is located in Walterboro, South Carolina. Take I-95 to exit 53.

Plenty of rooms are available but they have not answered my requests for additional discounted rooms. But you can get a discount through ihg.com membership.

I have moved to 21-N for Bimini. Wife really wanted ocean view. This should have opened up a two bedroom with loft in 18 if anyone still needs a large unit.
