Nice writeup and thanks for the attachment pictures. You're correct that there doesn't appear to be parts for the support brackets or the platform. But seeing how it all goes together, it seems like it would be pretty easy to glass something in the way of a platform if someone were able to weld up the center bracket. The wheels are turning... incorporate wakewedge in design... incorporate trim tabs... underwater lights.... oh crap maybe I should buy a new boat, might be cheaper.

The LX210 swim platform is entirely bolt on and would fit on a LS2000. I have pictures showing the bolt on hardware that I will find and post.

The swim platform comes from the factory on LX210 and AR210 models. At one time you could buy the parts to retrofit to a LX210 but at this point I believe they are unobtanium.

I bought the last one available, you would have to make your own out of wood and cover with fiberglass. Maybe find one on EBAY being parted out

Well I was going to use the measurement and info in this thread to build my own. But one showed up including the brackets, ladder and hardware. It’s a little rough... I think the previous owner might of used it as a battering ram. But it should clean up fine with a little work and some new gelcoat.9D6C0487-499A-49B6-8313-547345972416.jpeg 756886E6-5B42-4EEB-AF17-6CACEAF765F4.jpegF345CF5E-406F-49FD-B307-76A3228CFF01.jpeg

If anyone wants more dimensions or templates let me know.

The one thing I was concerned with if I made my own was the curve on the center bracket base plate. But after seeing it I think it would be easy enough to bend roughly to shape and then bed in thickened epoxy when mounting to the boat.

Hello!

I have an Lx2000 and love it. Does anyone have a swim platform they would like to sell?

I'm currently making one for my ls2000. All of it will be modeled up and reproducible. Was thinking if there was any interest in it after its finished that it could be sold as a kit. So, not really one for sale, but an option if you are interested.

I would like to see it when you are finished. Most likely interested.

Sure. Machine shop knocked out the platform yesterday and has started the mounts. These guys are great.

First try is going to use the straight rails in the pump recesses like the factory platform does, but use our original ladder mounts for the middle to try to ease install, and reduce drilling new holes and filling the old.

Interested! Do you have any pictures, info, etc? Is it complete or are you still in the process of building it?

That looks great! What material is it made out of? It looks like it was cut out of one sheet? When do you think it will be all finished up?

In process. Should be finished up in a few days, then it can be jumped around on to see if we are happy with it. I'd guess this probably won't be the final design, it'll probably be modified somewhere.

The material is King ColoCore. Wanted to try some design, like the logo, machined into it. The different color inside gets exposed to make the contrast. It is also slightly textured. There are several color combos available. Could be made out of a solid color, or the StarBoard material just as easily. It is cut out of 1 sheet, but we had to get a full 4x8 sheet to get the maximum thickness in colorcore.

These are a few pics along the way. Don't take any of it for gospel, but I know I'd be interested in seeing what's up too. Design guy is an animal. Took the idea and had it developed in a few hours, then did rev 2 after I added the boarding ladder.

Very creative. Did you take measurements from another swim platform or did the guy just go with it?

I mocked up a bunch of different sizes before it was modeled. So, no it's not oem size. It has a bit of dovetail to it as well. Just used a large sheet of cardboard so I could actually see it.

The side brackets are based off the oem stuff. The center stuff all custom. He modeled up the rear of the boat by measuring mine. We had originally intended to make the center bracket similar, but decided to try to use the step mounts to make it way easier. No issues with getting the hull shape and welded angle correct. Originally talked about using round stock like the step, he redesigned to the solid stock mounted directly on the step brackets after adding the boarding ladder.

Looks nice @crazyrings

Couple things I’d keep an eye on though. Hard to tell from the pics but it looks a little bigger than the OEM one. In that it appears that it will extend farther back behind the boat. When you are getting up on plane with ballast or the inlaws in the back seat it may be dragging a bit. Which will put up a nice wave for surfing. But also put a lot of strain on the mounting brackets.

Also, I’m no structural engineer but how much support will the red pieces in your schematic add? If you use the existing ladder brackets the new red pieces will, I assume, be able to pivot. Which makes me think they are really not adding any strength... imagine, if you were to just have the red pieces and not the 2” angle on either side.. the red pieces would not hold the platform level. If that makes sense.

Yup, this one is substantially bigger than OEM. We had a couple of patterns, and the big one was built first to see what happens. It can easily be scaled down. The other pattern is about 6" shorter than this. It could be made to any size, including OEM if someone wanted to measure it out for me.

You are correct, it will pivot around the ladder mount. However, that is where most of the load is carried. Similar as to when you stand on the ladder. The force is on the pin, then the brackets and bolts into and away from the hull. This design is similar to the ladder in force when standing close to the boat, then a compression force as you move towards the rear. Anyhow, the weight is carried mostly on the pins, with the clocking (or rotation around the pins) being controlled by the side rails as an almost horizontal shear force away from the boat. If the weight is on the sides of the platform, the side rails will be under more vertical forces as well which is actually more concerning to me than the center structure, as my current lengths will create a slightly longer lever.

The center structure is likely to be much stronger than the OEM option. The OEM platform isn't supported near the hull, and is a single vertical plate as you know. It does however have a larger plate against the hull that better distributes the compression force I mentioned. I may ended up with a larger plate that bolts right back into the ladder mount holes if it ends up being a worry after testing. I'd like to know if the hull is reinforced differently on the LX and AR, as my LS is only reinforced at the step mounts. I'd rather keep my plates there then going to the oem style with a backing plate on the thinner section.

All the forces could be calculated for piece of mind if we wanted to turn it into a real deal kit.

As far as what length will drag the water, that's the fun in testing!

I predict that dragging in the water will result in a self correcting trim tab like effect.

Haha, I think you are probably right, especially at this ridiculous first length. Im curious to find out what size can be run when going slow enough to sink the rear for wakeboarding.
